26: Salmon Envelope

A day at San Sebastian with Andres was like a fairytale. Hindi ko mapigilan ang mapangiti sa tuwing naaalala ko ang mga naganap sa lugar na iyon. Andres' lips and body kept flashing in my mind.

"What are you thinking?" asked Juno while we were standing in line at the cafeteria.

"Wala," nakangiti kong sabi.

"Akala ko bawal ng maglihim sa isa't-isa?" tanong naman ni Poly.

"Do you want someone to hear us here?" I raised my brows. "I will tell you later."

"Bakit hindi na lang ngayon?' pagpupumilit ni Juno.

"Oo nga, pwede namang bumulong," sumunod na sabi ni Poly.

Sasagot na sana ako ngunit kaharap ko na ang tindera sa cafeteria. "Ano sa'yo?" tanong niya.

"Isang order ng carbonara at dalawang pamalo para sa mga katabi ko," pabiro kong sabi, ngunit hindi yata maganda ang timing dahil hindi maganda ang mood ng tindera. "Carbonara lang po," muli kong sabi at ngumiti.

When we got our orders, we looked for an empty table away from the crowd. There, I revealed to my friends what happened to Andres and me, which seemed to give a boost for eating.

"So you're a broken flower now?" Juno wanted to say it louder, but she bit her own teeth to control it.

"Yes." I smiled while gluing my eyes on the table.

"Uhm..." Poly scratched her curly hair. "Are we supposed to be happy? Or do we need to scold you for what you did?"

Juno swatted her. "Of course this is a celebration. Our Emilio is a virgin boy no more."

"Shush!" I motioned my finger. "Baka may makarinig sa'tin."

They both cupped their mouth, trying to stop the excitement they were feeling for me. Palagi naming napaguusapan ang tungkol sa pagiging virgin naming tatlo, kaya naman hindi na naging mahirap sa'kin para magkwento sa kanila.

"So what's the score between you and him?" Juno asked.

"Score?' I asked. "Well, we only did it once."

"No. I'm not talking about how many times you did it with him." She giggled. "Ano na ang status niyo?"

"Did he said I love you?" asked Poly.

My eyebrows pulled together, recalling. "No, but he told me that I was his first love, his second love, and will be his last love."

Juno narrowed her eyes. "That sounds romantic, but are you certain it's reliable?"

Napaisip ako sa kanyang sinabi. "Kailangan ko pa bang alamin kung totoo ang sinabi niya o hindi? I mean those are just words. What he made me feel is more important than that."

Poly gave a look at Juno, then she stared at me again. "Bakit? Ano bang pakiramdam ang binibigay niya sa'yo."

"Apart from making your knees tremble," said Juno.

I puffed my cheeks. "You want me to share or not?"

Juno tittered. "Go on, spill!"

I slid my carbonara to the side and focused my eyes at the window near us. "Well, apart from giving my heart tickles. I also feel safe with him. The way he hug me makes my worries disappear. His tight grip to my hand gives me a different strength. The way he stare at me makes me feel like I don't need to feel insecure. His touch gives me unlimited energy. There's something about his aura that makes me excited, optimistic and free. He made me discover a different side of me."
