I was walking downstairs, waiting for Brand to
come home from getting groceries.
I whipped up a sandwich in the kitchen before the doorbell rang.
I opened the door, thinking it was Brand who needed help bringing in the groceries.
But I was wrong.
It was Finn.
The Finn Wolfhard who I've been waiting for to come home.
" FINN! "
I jumped up and hugged him tightly.
" I'm so glad you're safe. I missed you. "
I pulled away and was about to kiss him but he didn't seem to care.
His face was emotionless.
Realizing he didn't even hug back.
" Finn? "
I ask confused.
He looked at me up and down. He ignored me and started heading up the stairs.
" Finn? "
Why'd he do that?
That's not like him to do that?
Unless he's lost interest in me.
Water starting to form in my eyes, as I was still questioning myself.
I ran up the stairs chasing after Finn and calling out for his name but no answer.
Why was this happening?

I woke up to someone shaking me.
I gasped feeling sweaty all over my body and my eyes swollen.
" Y/n? You okay? "
It was Brand, he was sitting over my bed,
and it looked like he just got here.
" I- I heard you yelling from your downstairs. You okay? "
He says worried.
" I- I was yelling? "
I sat up leaning on the headboard.
" Yeah.
You were yelling Finn's and for some reason mine too?
You sure you okay?
Dreamt of something?"
" Yeah, I did. But, I-I'm okay. "
I answer nodding, remembering
that bad dream all over again.
Is that what's gonna happen when I see him?
My thoughts were cut off.
" Okay, I'll be downstairs. Gonna go out for groceries in awhile.
Wanna come? "
Groceries.
Do I go? Or stay home?
" I- I'm not so sure yet. "
My eyes looking around my room, wiping my nose roughly with my hoodie.
" That's okay, but uh if you are.
You know where to find me. "
I nodded, seeing Brand leave my room.
A small smile of reassurance formed on his mouth just as before he
shut the door.

" Shit. "
I patted the bed looking for my phone.
The moment I got the hold of it, I called Finn.
The line was ringing.
But then it went straight to his voice mail after a couple of seconds.
I got off my bed, stretching.
Haven't felt this way in long time...
I thought to myself.
Deciding I'd take a shower and go with Brand.
I don't think I'd be ready to face Finn if it were to happen today.
Let alone be able to take it, if that's the way he reacted...
Yeah his things were here
and he'd probably gone upstairs to his room.
But still, he might've been staying at someone else's place.
I don't know.

Switching the water off, hopping out
and changing.
I was walking down the stairs,
" You comin'? "
I saw Brand look up from his phone from the couch.
" Yup. "
I answered putting my shoes on.
" Hey Y/n, what's with the long face? "
My best friend stood up from the couch. I didn't answer.
" Y/nnnnn. "
He called my name.
" He's gonna be home soon. I promise. "
" And how would you know. "
I shrugged picking my bag up.
" Because I do. "
He turned his head to me.
" Yeah, whatever. Let's go. "
Rubbing my eyes as I walked out, hearing Brand follow from behind.

We took the bus and walked to the grocery store, Walmart.
I guess Brand could tell I was out of it.
I barely spoke from the bus ride and walk here.

" Tell ya what. I'll do the groceries myself, and just sit at one of the food spots outside.
I'll meet ya there. "
Brand smiled taking a cart out.
" What? Why? I'm fine, Brand. Besides you need help- "
" No I don't. We actually only need a few things.
So you can sit down, and I'll do em myself.
Text me if there's anything you want me to get. "
He made me sit down on one of the senior citizen seats.
" I am not sitting here. "
I stand back up and was about to follow him but,
" Then just text me where you are! "
He yelled disappearing in one of the isles, pushing the cart along with him.
" Brand! "
I stomp my feet on the ground and had my hands
clenched into a fist.
" Fuck. "
Whispering under my breath I head out the grocery part and found of those
mexican food stands.
I ordered some nachos since those those looked the most appealing.
I was quite hungry anyway.
Plugging my airpods in, the song " This Charming Man " by The Smiths ended up queuing.
Tapping my foot along to the beat, taking a couple chips from time to time.
