Come Back to Me

Mischievous,
Always up to something,
Curious mind,
Born and raised on isolation
Loneliness was your friend,
You had no say.

Stubborn,
The more they say the more you do,
Every quip was fuel,
The fire had never burnt so bright,
Cared less the more they do,
Never felt cared less more by the ones that said they do.

Creative,
A spark of light,
Mistakes went and go,
Never dwindled no matter the fight,
Let it go and it came back to you,
You never saw the end, did you?

Sensitive,
Crybaby, scaredy-cat,
Temper tantrum thrower,
So unafraid to show,
So bold, so loud,
Felt your heart and let it be heard.

How does it feel to be free?
How I long to be who you were,
How I miss you, young and carefree,
Oh, how there'll never be another.
How I wish you'd come back to me.

I had my chance,
I saw it melt before me,
Once resilient now lost and empty,
I was more myself when i didn't know myself,
It was simpler when no one told me who I was,
Lonely and creative and stubborn and sensitive,
Somethings will never change,
But now I mourn you in the silence of my self.
