I don't own any of primeval, it's plot or characters unfortunately. However, Katherina and her family are mine. All credit and rights go to impossible pictures.

Katherina's POV:

We stood in Lester's office, Abby and Connor leaning near the glass wall, Jenny in front of James' desk and I somewhere in the middle.

"She knows everything!" Jenny said to Lester, speaking about Christine.

I scanned Lester's movements as he simply leant back in his chair.

"That's not news to you is it?" I questioned quietly.

"Are you sure the detector was working?" He sighed, ignoring my question.

"Yep," Connor replied confidently. "We got the same reading from the hand-held."

"But you can't be certain." Lester answer.

Connor looked around, lost.

"Well no... But if it wasn't an anomaly, what was it?"

I was already feeling on edge today and the fact Lester knew more than he was letting on made me snap. Again.

I took the couple steps forward to his desk and slammed by hands down on the cold wood.

Jenny's peaceful method seemed to be getting her nowhere.

"Did you know this place existed?!" I demanded.

He raised an eyebrow at my outburst.

"No."

"Right," I sighed. "Then we need to find out exactly what it is they're doing there."

"Yes!" Lester shouted as he rose. "Thank you for pointing out that blindingly obvious statement!"

We all raised our eyebrows.

"Right," he made a shooing motion with his hand. "Yes, yes leave it with me."

"Go on, thank you." He continued as we slowly left the room.

I stood with Connor as he worked on the anomaly locking device, assisting him with whatever he needed. Contrary to popular belief, my IQ happened to be as high as his so helping him wasn't that hard.

The whole surprising element was that I actually decided to use my brains instead of my weapons. I'm avoiding my usual sanctuary of the armoury if you hadn't noticed; don't particularly want to see Becker at the moment.

Suddenly, Abby's phone began ringing from her desk next to us, yet Abby wasn't around. Connor and I shared a look before he walked over and answered her phone.

"Abby's phone." He sang.

I didn't pay attention to the actual conversation, instead I switched back to the circuit board in front of me and tried to figure out a way to wire the electricity to the projector without frying myself.

It was only when I noticed Connor's dreading look that I raised my head.

"What's up?" I questioned as his mouth opened and closed.

He placed Abby's phone down and looked at me.

"Jacks going to show Abby a good time.." He trailed off and looked down at the locking device.

"Okay..." I said slowly.

It was no surprise to me that Connor liked Abby, I happened to know she also liked him back... Girl talk after a bottle of vodka when Stephen died turned out to be quite revealing.
