CHAPTER 4:THE START OF THE EXAM

In the morning ~

Myari woke up early, had breakfast, and donned a cropped top with skinny jeans. Adding a jacket to combat the morning chill, she left her house, she  navigated through the early morning streets, the cool breeze gently tousling her hair. The city around her was waking up, with soft sunlight painting a warm glow on the buildings. As she approached FOX headquarters, the imposing structure loomed ahead, a testament to the organization's prominence.
The surroundings were a mix of contemporary urban design and meticulous landscaping. Neatly trimmed hedges bordered the pathway leading to the entrance, and subtle sculptures adorned the exterior, adding a touch of artistic flair.
Upon reaching the headquarters, Myari entered a spacious courtyard. Elegant benches lined the edges, inviting moments of contemplation. The ground was paved with smooth stones, and here and there, vibrant flowers burst into bloom, injecting color into the scene.
As she stood there, observing her surroundings, Myari's attention was drawn to a sea of red roses that seemed to cascade down a nearby staircase, creating a captivating visual display. The headquarters, surrounded by a meticulously maintained garden, exuded an air of sophistication.. Myari noticed Saya waving at her with a smile. Returning the gesture, their interaction was interrupted by a loud voice.
"Welcome, everyone," spoke a lady with long curly hair, glistening gold like the morning sun, and big blue eyes reminiscent of the sky. Despite her pretty appearance, her face remained emotionless, akin to a doll. The distinct outfit marked her as a leader.
She continued, "I am Meriko de Maria, number 2 of FOX leaders. I will be the supervisor for this year, so let me explain the rules for you."

In the echoing hall, a pervasive murmur swept through the air, primarily centered around the enchanting beauty of a certain lady.
"Isn't she too exquisite for the battlefield?"
"Beautiful, like a living doll!"
"Her blonde tresses appear spun from strands of gold."
"She ranks second—both strong and stunning."
Abruptly, silence descended, casting a shadowy aura that emanated from behind Meriko. The attention shifted to a man of average height with silky purple locks, possessing crimson orbs that seemed to glow in the dimness. His gaze bore into each male in the hall, a silent warning echoing, "Crossing her path might cost you your life."
A collective shiver rippled through the room as Meriko continued her speech, indifferent to the ominous atmosphere. She turned to the source of disturbance, her gaze meeting the intense stare of the man named Henry.
"What's the matter, Henry?" she inquired with a cold, stern tone.
He offered a wide smile and apologetically shook his head, "Nothing's amiss. Apologies for the interruption, Lady Meriko."
Resuming her address, Meriko paid no heed to the lingering tension. Myari, seated beside her, couldn't help but be curious.
"Who's the man with the intense glare?" Myari questioned.
"Oh, he's Sir Henry, the third-ranking leader," came the response.
"Thank you. May I know your name?" Myari politely inquired.

"Certainly, I am RINA. It's a delight to make your acquaintance," said Rina, her smile radiating warmth. Her eyes resembled the rich hue of oak trees, complemented by cascading waves of light brown hair, enhancing her charm.

Myari extended her hand for a handshake. "I am Myari, pleased to meet you."

As Meriko resumed speaking, "I will elucidate the rules and the structure of the upcoming examination. Should you have any inquiries, the Shoor twins will address them."

At that juncture, two individuals stepped forward, flanking Meriko. The twins, a boy and a girl, took their places. The boy, Momose Shoor, offered a gentle smile as he took hold of the microphone. "Good afternoon, everyone. I'm Momose Shoor, and this is Charlotte," he gestured towards his sister. His disheveled brown hair and eyes with a captivating blend of baby blue and purple complemented his cheerful demeanor.
