December 20
Chicago, IL

Walking through the large housing Wiic kept his eye open as he walked past the group of men and women outside. Yari trotted behind him as she held the black duffle bag in her hand. The bag Wiic been having her carry since they touched back down in Chicago

The deeper he got inside the apartment housing the more he felt anger built up. He hadn't made his way this far back since he was kicked out at thirteen

Going over to apartment number 65 he knocked on the door. Keeping a mug on his face Wiic listened carefully for the locks and door handle being opened

As the beautiful cinnamon skin women came into his view Wiic mugged her. She had a small smile on her face as she opened the door for the two

She could see that he didn't wanna be here or around her. Especially by his facial expressions. But she didn't care she happy to see her baby. Her first son at that

"Long time no see." Her thick accent flowed through his ears

"I wonder why?" Wiic said walking inside the home

Looking around the semi spacious living room everything looked the same. From the pictures on the wall to the decor. The only thing that looked different was the furniture

Pictures of Wiic and Tank hung on the walls from when they were kids till they teenagers. A couple of pictures they took with their little sisters were placed and hung right next to theirs as well

The different awards from her children still filled up the hallway walls towards their bedrooms

"What made you come by?" She broke the silence

"Karess said you needed help with sum'." Wiic mumbled while still looking around

"I told him it was fine and I would find away to pay fa' it." Seven said shaking her head

"Pay fa' what? You strugglin'?" Wiic turned his face up

"Dayvon it's nothing new. I've always struggled to take care of you five myself. I just always overworked so you guys could have everything you wanted." Seven said taking a seat on the love sofa

"What that mean? You still gone struggle even though we got it? And what you strugglin' pay?" Wiic asked

"Sevy's and Sandy's school tuition. But I'm almost there so I don't need help." Seven brushed him off

"How long it took you to be almost there?" Wiic questioned

"Every month when I pay the first tuition then I get a head start for the next month. Nilipata siku mbili kabla ya malipo yaliyofuata." Seven said as she looked up at him

"How much?" Wiic asked

"Two thousand each. They go to the private school way in downtown. I have to go up there and pay it." Seven answered

"Get cho' stuff. We finna go up thea' and pay and grab them." Wiic said while standing up

"Seven I told you I got it." She said sternly

"Na nikasema njoo." Wiic said while walking out the home

He held the door opened for Yari to walk out after him. Closing the door Wiic walked a little away from the door and looked around the apartments

The back looked the same, but different in a way. It even felt different. Maybe because everyone he hung out wit all died once he got booked for his murder charge. Or went in right dates him and still serving time
