It's Always You

Jamal Pov

My eyes widened as I read the statement my agency had put out. Paisley is gonna be pissed. I immediately ran to my manager

"Care to explain this??" I said as I shoved the phone into his hands

"Anything wrong?"

"Yeah, everything is wrong. For one, I'm not in a relationship with Lola, two, I have a girlfriend. What the fuck man?" I yelled angrily.

"Well seeing that you and Paisley are both public figures who are currently at the peak their careers, a dating scandal between you two might make both of you lose everything"

"Well couldn't you deny everything and not involve Lola?" I

"Well no-one was going to believe that you aren't dating Paisley with all the evidence so we decided to add Lola as some sort of reinforcement of the fact that you two definitely aren't dating. Besides, Lola is just a wannabe influencer who has nothing to lose in this deal so it's a win-win situation"

"Did Lola even agree to this?"

"Trust me, she was more than willing to agree to everything" he smirked

I stormed out of the room and dialed Paisley's number. No answer. I got into my car and rushed to her hotel.

I know that you are probably angry at me right now, and you have every right to be. I'm currently in your hotel parking lot and I'm literally begging you to let me in so I can explain everything

I pressed send. A few minutes passed and my phone finally vibrated with a text notification.

Paisley
Room 705. You've got 5 minutes.

Before I could even knock on the door, Paisley opened it and pulled inside.

"You've got three and a half minutes left" she crossed her arms around her chest

Paisley Pov

Jamal explained how he didn't know anything about the whole statement thing and how he was just as shocked as I was when he read the statement. A part of me doubted him but seeing how equally angry he was about the whole situation cleared all my doubts.

"So now you and Lola are going to have to be in a fake relationship?" I asked with venom lacing my voice. The thought of seeing Jamal and Paisley acting alm lovey dovey made me want to poke my eyes out

"Honestly, I don't know if I can go through with that plan, not when I have a girlfriend whom I love to infinity and beyond" he smiled, which made me smile as well

"But what about your career?"

"You are far more important than any career. The fans need to understand that I also have a life outside football. A life that I would like to share with you"

His words warmed my heart and I could feel the butterflies dancing in my stomach.

"Imagine a life without the media and people watching our every move" I sighed

"That would be heaven on earth"

"Come here, I think we are both in desperate need for some sugar"  I outstretched my arms

"Sugar?" he raised a brow

"Yeah sugar" I said and pulled him close to me, engulfing him in a bear hug

"So this is sugar you were talking about?" he grinned

"Yep" I said not looking up at him as I was too busy enjoying listening to sound of his heartbeat

"I like this kinda sugar" he nuzzled his face into my neck

"Me too"
