Unseen Dancer

I am a natural acrobat, a graceful dancer,

A contortionist of dreams, longing to soar,

But life's cruel coin toss denied me the chance,

To twirl and leap on stages like those before.

I practice in silence, my own private show,

Each movement a prayer, each step a plea,

Yet I know I lack the training's pure glow,

That the girls behind the screen were blessed to see.

So I turn to my faithful screen and its glow,

Where acrobats and dancers enchant with their art,

And I let myself go, in the comfort I know,

Imagining myself onstage, playing my part.

As years drift by, my body grows still,

But the fire within, refuses to fade,

For I am a dancer, with an unyielding will,

Though unseen by many, my passions cascade.

So I dance in the shadows, where none else can view,
