Walking across the floor of the ball room, I split ways with Samuel. "You head for the cross.... I'll do some scouting." I gave him a nod with a soft smile. Swiftly moving to the left, I strode across the floor greeting guests as soon as the bidding started. Turning to my left, I noticed Rafe. "What the h*ll..." I whispered then walked past some guests with some champagne on my tray. Watching Rafe further, I spotted him approaching Sullivan after Nadine had been talking with him. Looking away, I did my very best at Italian. My accent wasn't great, but it worked for the time being.

Flinching at Rafe's loud words, I glanced over quickly before looking over at Samuel. Watching the auction start, I started to shake, I was nervous. Biting my lip, I flinched at Nathan's voice. "Oww." I bit down to hard. I glanced over at Samuel once again before turning to walk a little closer to try and hide in the crowd. However, I was instructed to stand still as bidding started. "Nate... where the h*ll were you?"

"𝑾𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒄𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒔.... 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝑰 𝒎𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝒊𝒕."

"𝒀𝒆𝒂𝒉, 𝒊𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖'𝒓𝒆 𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒂 𝒄𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓, 𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒏𝒐𝒘
𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕."

"𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒍... 𝑰'𝒎 𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒂 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒂 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒖𝒕𝒆."

"Nate we don't have a minute." I nervously looked around. My eyes wavered uncomfortably. My hands were shaking, I hadn't been so nervous before.

"𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒃𝒐𝒚, 𝑹𝒂𝒇𝒆, 𝒊𝒔 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆."

"𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕? 𝑹𝒂𝒇𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆?"

"𝒀𝒆𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝑹𝒂𝒇𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒃𝒊𝒅."

"𝑶𝒖𝒕𝒃𝒊𝒅 𝒉𝒊𝒎..."

"𝑾𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕?"

"𝑾𝒆'𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓?"

(𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒚 𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒉)

"𝑮𝒖𝒚𝒔, 𝒊𝒇 𝒘𝒆 𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒔, 𝑰'𝒎 𝒂𝒔 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒂𝒔 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒅."

"𝑭𝒐𝒓 𝒂 𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂 𝒑𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅."

I flinched, watching the both of them bid, I quickly met eyes with Sam. I knew the lights were going to snap off in a second or more. I was just awaiting nervously. I usually wasn't this nervous. Glaring at Rafe, my eyes narrowed further before flinching again at Nate's voice.

"𝑰'𝒎 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒄𝒉, 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒈𝒖𝒚𝒔 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒚?"

"H*ll, yes." I shifted uncomfortably. As soon as the lights went off, I smirked. Everyone's shocked voices hushed. Feeling something grab my arm, I looked up in the darkness. "Sam?" I whispered, and we both bolted for the door we came in. But it was locked so we went out another door, dropping our things then bolting out through the other door.
