I cannot prove there is a God

You cannot ask this of me

What even scholars struggle to supply

What their opposers favour fondly

I cannot prove there is a God

My proof to you is dust

But I shall tell you all I know

If, you insist I must

If there are deserts in the place

Where there have once been kingdoms

If there are mountains on this earth

Then I see Allah in them

If there are waters that don't mix

There is the Book, there is the Pen

There is a country under siege

That will someday be free again

If there's a fracture 'round the moon

And veins that mirror those of leaves

Then I know Allah through the woods

And through the bark of Maple trees

And through the gentle root of plants

And all we know no man could make

Through verses in our holy Book

They couldn't even replicate

And if there is a heart that beats

And eyes that see through flaws

How can you look at me and say

"Prove there is a god".
