Jay starts driving into the more rural areas and explains to Alexia she found this place when she was really struggling mentally after leaving her life behind and moving here so abruptly. Alexia listened intently to Jay and put her hand on Jays leg to reassure her it was okay. Jay smiled at Alexia's gesture and grabbed her hand now holding it between hers.
After about twenty minutes Jay pulled over to a very posh coffee wagon which smelt so heavenly, they both grabbed their orders and Jay grabbed Alexia's hand and led her in towards the small wooded area. They are walking for 5 minutes before Jay says "we're here, in about half an hour it will be dark and it's the closest area with no light pollution for miles. I forgot to mention there is a meteor shower tonight" It was beautiful thought Alexia, you could see the city in the distance but they sat near the cliffs edge, Alexia and Jay spent most of the next twenty minutes talking about the game tomorrow evening and what they thought would happen when Alexia shouted "THERE, I SAW A SHOOTING STAR" Alexia was amazed. For the next hour her and Jay laid next to each other looking up at the stars, Jay felt peaceful and Alexia felt smitten. This evening had been a perfect distraction from the game tomorrow albeit a friendly.
Alexia had fell asleep she looked really peaceful but Jay didn't want her to be cold so she picked Alexia up and carried her back to the car. Alexia woke briefly when being put in the car and Jay leant over to strap her in with her seatbelt, Alexia opened her eyes just as Jay passed her face and for a moment Jay thought about kissing her but didn't want her to freak out all this way from the resort so Jay smiled and said "let's get you back, you need rest for your game tomorrow". Alexia wanted the kiss but also didn't want a repeat of this morning.
Pulling up back at the resort Jay let Alexia out of the vehicle and thanked her for tonight, embracing her into the warmest hug. Alexia let the air deflate out of her and sat into the hug, pulling away for Jay to gently kiss her on the cheek before walking over to her villa saying "remember I'm having your shirt after the game tomorrow" before winking and disappearing into her garage.
Alexia laughed she liked Jay, she felt different with her. A good different.
Emma was waiting in the wings, watching and felt a warmth at the sight of two of her favourite people.
Alexia fell asleep that night very quickly, she felt at peace for the first time in a long time.
The sound of a loud airhorn was what woke everyone up, Alexia and Irene shot to their front doors thinking it was some kind of warning for war. They were joined by several other players at their own apartment doors.
There laughing her head off was Mapi. MAPI BLOODY LEON who had the biggest grin on her face, "its game day people rise and shineeeeeeee!".
Mapi wasn't the only person there, Jay was with her laughing hysterically at everyone's angry faces. Clearly Mapi and Jay were becoming good friends already, both as childish as each other.
The players used to Mapi's national camp antics all groaned and went back into their apartments to get dressed, before heading to the dining room for team breakfast.
Jay already in the dining area drinking a caramel macchiato watched the Spanish players filter in the room. The room now full of noisy discussions which brought comfort to Jay she had been here alone for a while with no personal connection whatsoever.
Emma approached Jay giving her the vip pass and explaining what time to be there and who to ask for.
Jay had to run a few errands so was about to leave when she decided to speak to the room, She clinked her coffee mug and got everyone's attention all eyes now looking at her "good luck today girls, not that you will need it i cannot wait to watch you as your number one fan. VAMOS!" The girls all cheered in unison and Jay grinned before leaving the room to go about her day before the game.
The girls slowly but surely all get on the team bus, some have their headphones on some are playing silly games with each other. Once in the stadium the players make their way to the pitch to see the stadium in all of its beauty, the crowds have already started to gather. Alexia then tells the team its time, they make their way into the changing rooms and begin their normal processes. Music is blaring before Emma enters and turns it off to begin going though tactics. The changing room buzzer sounds and they leave the room and line up down the tunnel, Alexia at the front proudly wearing her captains armband smiles takes a deep breath and enters the field on her right foot leading the team into battle.
The national anthems play, Spains first. Alexia looks into the crowd and see's Jay waving and pointing to the back of her shirt emblazoned on i says ALEXIA 11. Alexia smiles then goes straight back to focus.
Kick off, 5 minutes in Spain score an inswinging corner from Mapi finds Jenni's head who calmly slots it behind the oncoming keeper.
10 minutes later its two, Bonmati dances around the entire Panama team and bends it past the keeper who absolutely didn't stand a chance.
30 minutes in, Patri is brought down in the box and Alexia immediately grabs the ball and makes her way to the spot, Jay grins she knows Alexia wont miss shes watched her do this a hundred times on to. Jay was not wrong, the keeper rooted to her spot as Alexia slams it into the net before running to the Spanish fans.
Half time soon approaches and the players leave for the dugouts.
"Nice shirt" someone says to Jay, someone that looked familiar but she couldn't work out why.
"She's my favourite player" grins Jay. "Mine too" the Spanish girl replies before wandering off to an older lady also wearing an ALEXIA shirt.
Second half begins.
Emma must of riled the team up because they have come out flying, in quick succession two more goals are scored. Mariona grabbing the first of the second half whilst Patri grabbed the second, an absolute screamer that Jay was very impressed with.
Ten minutes later Aitana was fouled outside the box, luckily she's not injured and Alexia and Jenni stand over the ball in anticipation over who will strike this. Jenni runs towards it followed by Alexia who lifts the ball over the wall straight into the top left corner. The fans went nuts, Mapi jumped on her shoulders and Alexia pointed towards the area where Jay was sat and blew a kiss. The kiss not being for Jay but for the Spanish girl who approached her earlier.
"Omg that's where i know her from" Jay smirked at her earlier error and watches Alexia run back to the halfway line both catching a glimpse of each other and smiling.
The Spanish girl who Jay now recognises to be Alexia's sister see's this interaction and grins.
The rest of the second half is lacklustre the midday heat getting too much for both teams, Pina came off the bench for the last goal and then the whistle blew with the final score being 7-0. The players all shake hands and make their way over to their fans. Alexia makes her way towards her family and Jay quietly observes there interaction. Alexia turns to Jay and Jay congratulates her, Alexia blushes "Gracias, but we had a deal no?" Jay is puzzled at first but remembers they are meant to swap shirts, Jay being undeterred by Alexia's obvious display for dominance immediately takes hers off and hands it to Alexia, Alba is caught ogling Jay shirtless before Alexia whips her with her shirt and puts her back in the real world, Alexia passes Jay the matchworn shirt before attempting to leave when she is met with "ahem" she spins around to see Jay displaying sad eyes an holding a pen. Alexia chuckles deeply at this sight and murmurs "clown" before signing the shirt TO MY NUMBER ONE FAN, ALEXIA.
Jay being the child that she is jumps in joy earning a laugh from everyone around her and hugs Alexia stating she had to go to the club to sort some furniture being delivered. They embrace each other and Jay whispers "you looked so good out there" before delivering a quick peck to Alexia cheek and disappearing into the crowd.
"Who is that and where can i get one?" Alexia spins around ready to lay into Alba who is grinning knowing how to annoy her sister. "Girls no" exclaims Eli their mother.
"Seriously Ale she is hot, and fun i like her" Alexia groaned, "where did you meet?" Mapi appeared, always at the most inconvenient of times. "Her names Jay, she owns the resort were staying in and shes super cool, oh and her and Alexia have kissed, goodbye!" And with that Mapi knowing her damage was done sped off. Alexia stood rooted to the spot bright red immediately out of comfort zone.
"ALE, you kissed omg!" Alba screeched. "Keep your voice down, its not what it seems. I have to go" Alexia kissed her mother and got out of there as quickly as she could.
