Chapter Forty

When the ambulance finally arrived, oxygen was administered right away the faint pulse of Jay was enough to flood Alexias entire being with relief.
The deep laceration on her head was still leaking blood and fast, the paramedics were quick to compress and bandage it and deal with it once at the hospital, focusing on the still unconscious Jay.
Her left wrist now largely swollen and slightly misshaped as they loaded her on the stretcher. Paramedics asking if anyone saw what happened to which they didn't Alexia had just found her like that.
Emma travelled with Jay in the back of the ambulance while the girls headed to security to see what had happened on cctv inside the gym.

From what they were viewing on the camera nothing happened, Jay just collapsed and smacked her head on a weight on the way down landing on her left wrist, with this new information Emma was called and she fed it back to the nurses who did some blood work and that all came back okay. In the end it was just deemed dehydration was the cause, dehydrated from days of crying and not putting enough food or fluid into her body.
Her head injury although looked severe wasn't anything sinister it was more external damage and they were certain she would wake up soon feeling a little rough. Her wrist was broken but they decided against casting it instead putting it into a simple splint and sling.
They had stitched Jays head while she asleep and she had an iv drip attached to her pumping her with water and and iron infusion due to the loss of blood from her head.

Two hours later she woke up feeling extra groggy just as the Spanish team arrived, the nurse had warned them that she might not have much recollection for a couple of hours while her meds wear off and the nurse was right.
Alexia leant over to hold her hand and Jay almost flinched causing Alexias blood to run cold.
"Amor it's me?" Alexia whispered.
"Emma who are these lot?" Jay asked looking so small under her sheets.
"Darling these are your friends, my team. I am the manager of the Spain's women's National team. And that there" pointing at a shocked Alexia "is I think your girlfriend?".
Jay looked across at Alexia who smiled slightly "that's my girlfriend? I mean she's hot, wait I'm so confused? Why do you think she's my girlfriend. Am I dreaming?".
"Bonita you are my girlfriend, we had an argument and Emma didn't know we made up. You're not dreaming you are in Spain".
"So you Alexia Putellas, my favourite footballer are my girlfriend?" Jay asked loudly and confused.
Alexia nodded and Jay turned into a fit of laughter "Emma this is good even for you".
Emma slapped the palm of her hand onto her head, "darling you've had an accident and hit your head I think you need to sleep off these meds".
Jay was still laughing her head off but was slowly starting to frown as she could tell Emma was being serious and everyone was looking very concerned towards her.
"Oh you're being serious? Erm okay I don't even know what to say Alexia sorry I can't remember" and Jay dropped her head onto her chest feeling incredibly confused.
"Bebe the nurse said you will be fine but you would wake up confused, get some sleep and then when you wake up we'll be right here".
"Can you stay with me please?" Jay asked quietly.
"Only on one condition?" Alexia answered seriously.
"Go on".
"You remember me when you wake up please Bonita" her eyes on the verge of tears.
Jay nodded and moved across to make room for Alexia on her bed, bringing her into her chest now and rubbing her hair.
It didn't take long for the pair of them to fall asleep, even though Jay knew nothing of their relationship she felt some connection to Alexia instantly.

A couple of hours later Jay woke up and felt pain in her head and left wrist and groaned waking up Alexia.
"Babe wtf happened why am I in here?".
"Do you remember me?" Alexia asked abruptly.
"What? Si of course I do you numpty?".
"Numpty" Alexia asked in her heavy Spanish accent.
"god you're cute when you don't know English slang" Jay laughed.
"Why would I not remember you?" Jay turned facing Alexia now who looked relieved.
"When you woke up earlier you didn't remember me and didn't believe we were together" Alexia dropped her head.
"I could never forget you amor, you are perfect in every way. I'm sorry about earlier, now what happened to me?".
"You passed out in the gym, I found you covered in blood and I and I erm.." Alexia started to breathe heavily and couldn't get her words out.
Jay grabbed her chin and kissed her causing her thoughts to stop and bring her back to reality.
"Calm down baby, I'm here. Now you found me in the gym bleeding?".
"Si it was awful and we'd just sorted it out between us and I thought I lost you I'm so sorry".
"It's not your fault babe".
"Si it is because the doctor said you were dehydrated which caused it which is my fault because you've been crying the last few days". Alexia sobbed gently.
"Carino it's not your fault I neglected myself the last couple of days, please don't be sorry and thanks for finding me i love you. I'm guessing I've broken my wrist again?".
"Again?!" Alexia asked shocked at Jays revelation.
"I've broken both my wrists multiple times kick-boxing growing up and one time tripping over my own laces in a warm up ask Emma she thought it was hilarious til she saw my bone sticking out" Jay chuckled.
"How are you so calm?" Alexia sheepishly asked.
"It hurts but I'm okay, what's done is done. I'm just happy I'm here with you. Thought I'd lost you forever a couple of days ago". Jay looked sadly at her last lot of words.
"Mi amor I told you I'm never going anywhere it's me and you forever" and then she pulled Jays chin gently bringing her into a long gentle kiss.
"Remember her now do we Amiga?" Mapi was leant against the door way.
"Well Maria there are some things I can't remember like sex, so I'm going to have to investigate that a bit further with Alexia" Jay and Alexia laughed at Mapis look of disgust of her face joined by her pretending to gag.
Emma and the team now come into the room and Alexia moved out the way so everyone could hug Jay, she watched closely a smile on her face of her teams love for Jay. Jay and Alexia made eye contact and Jay smiled and winked causing Alexia to blush instantly.
