The rain fell in sheets, each droplet a tiny hammer pounding the earth, as if the sky itself sought to shatter the world below. Thunder rumbled in the distance, a deep, menacing growl that seemed to reverberate through the land. Two men rushed through the rain, trying to reach their destination on time. "I hope we aren't too late.", mumbled the taller one. After a few more minutes of running , they reached their destination. "This is most vile place I have seen in a while.", whispered the other, frowning at the building. The building looked at old and almost destroyed. As they walked inside they couldn't help but notice the torn wallpaper, the creaky wooden floor and the gloomy and dull environment. They could smell something pungent and rotten that they couldn't identify. They walked over to what seemed like the reception and smiled at the lady sitting there," Hi, we had an appointment? Regarding the adoption. " They handed over the letter they had received.

Going over the letter, he tapped the bell that was kept on the counter. "May will lead you two the room.", he smiled, guiding them towards the lady that was walking towards them. As they walked towards the room, the taller man sighed and looked around, "So, do you get a lot of requests?" May frowned a little before replying, "Well we did, initially. We are closing down very soon and this are very last case. We were quite surprised though. She is a difficult case. Which is why we were asked sent the letters to you. I just wanted to make sure you had every information about her before you completely went through with the adoption." A silence feel upon them as they reached their destination. " Someone is here to see you Amelia.", yelled May while knocking on the door. She then turned around and smiled at the two men and asked them to go inside ,"You two can meet her and get to know each other. I'll start with the documents, but you can call me if you need anything."

"Was this even a good idea? How will we hide this? And you're supposed to be laying low.", mumbled the brown haired man. He was feeling anxious about this even though he had agreed to it initially. His train of thoughts was interrupted as the door opened. They looked at the tiny head that peeked from behind the door, when suddenly a whisper was heard, " Hello?" The men froze, not having enough experience with such situations. "Come in, please." she called, her voice barely above a whisper

As they entered the room they looked around to see the walls full with scribblings and doodles and even though the room was mostly empty, it looked like it was made to be that way. The room had a section for toys even though there was only one lonely bear that had no eyes. It was then that they noticed the little girl, sat on her bed, a tattered book in her hands, her eyes flicking nervously toward the door. At a glance, they could see the presence of vulnerability and neglect. Her black hair was a tangled mess, hanging limply around her shoulders in unkempt disarray. Her face bore dirt smudges and scratches. Her brown eyes were wide with fear and uncertainty, darting nervously from one person to the next. Despite her efforts to appear strong, there was a fragility about her, a sense of being on the edge of breaking. The taller of the two stepped forward, a gentle smile on his face. "Hello," he said, his voice warm and welcoming. "My name is Sirius, and this is my partner, Remus. We've come to talk to you about... well, about something important."

"I'm Amelia.", she whispered, barely audible over the sound of rain drumming against the windows. She looked at them with eyes full of curiosity and a hint of apprehension. She had heard whispers among the adults about the two men who had come to adopt her, about how they were different, like her. "We know this must be very strange for you," Sirius said, his voice gentle. "But we want you to know that we're here because we believe you're special, that you have a gift." Amelia's eyes widened further, a spark of hope flickering in their depths. "A gift?" she repeated, her voice barely a whisper.

"Yes, a gift", said the other man. "Hello, my name is Remus Lupin," he began, his voice gentle yet firm. They knew it would be safer to not mention magic at all, considering the woman was probably right outside listening to them. "I believe you possess a rare and wonderful gift, one that sets you apart from others. I've come to offer you a chance to explore and develop this gift in a place where you'll be safe and supported." The girl frowned, clearly puzzled by his words. "A gift? What do you mean?" Remus smiled warmly. "Think of it as a talent, a unique ability that not everyone has. It's something special about you, something that makes you extraordinary." He extended his hand, a silent invitation. "Come with us, and we'll show you a world where your talent can flourish. You'll be surrounded by others who share your gift, and together, you'll learn how to harness it and use it for good." The girl hesitated, glancing at Remus. She could sense the sincerity in his words, the genuine desire to help her. "We understand that this is a lot to take in, especially since you don't have any family. But we want you to know that you won't be alone. Sirius and I, we want to offer you a place in our family. That is if you want. " The girl's eyes widened in surprise, a mixture of hope and uncertainty flickering in their depths. "You... want to adopt me?" Sirius nodded, stepping forward to join Remus. "Yes, we do. We may not be your blood family, but we can offer you a home, a place where you'll be loved and cared for and a family that loves and support you." Remus placed a hand on her shoulder, a gesture of comfort and support. "We are very new to this and still learning things so you'll have to forgive us for that but you're not alone anymore. We'll be there for you every step of the way, guiding you, supporting you, and cheering you on."

The girl blinked back tears, a mix of emotions swirling inside her. Fear, hope, gratitude—they all fought for dominance in her heart. But in that moment, she felt a glimmer of something she hadn't felt in a long time: belonging. "I... I don't know what to say," she whispered, her voice trembling. She wanted to accept the offer but she also wanted to make sure, "I am not exactly normal." "Darling being normal is the bad thing. But you don't have to say anything right now, we'll explain everything later. "Sirius chuckled softly. "Just know that the offer stands. Take all the time you need to think about it. We'll be here, whenever you're ready." She stared at them, wondering if she could really trust them. Amelia looked from Sirius to Remus and back again, her heart pounding in her chest. She had never felt so nervous, so excited, so... wanted. She closed her eyes for a moment, took a deep breath, and then nodded. "I'll go with you," she said finally, a spark of excitement igniting in her eyes. "I want to explore this... gift and see where it takes me. I want a family too." Remus smiled, a mixture of relief and joy washing over him, "Welcome to the family. Let's go home ?"
