Safiyya stepped out of the company and breathed before gazing at the darkening sky. She had to work tirelessly besides searching for a lead on Gab's case which was blocked from all sides. They were surely determined to pin it on him and it was pressuring her that she wouldn't be able to help him.

"Ya Rahman. Assist me in my ordeals and make them easier for me," she muttered and lowered her head while rubbing her face. She had checked on Gab's condition before coming out as her main priority was at home.

Safiyya had called Gab but she decided to start walking before he arrived. She walked down the walkway and couldn't help but feel that someone was watching her. Her eyes brows furrowed as she looked behind her but no one. Maybe it was her instinct.

It was a few minutes later, that Old Xav stopped beside her. She greeted him with a smile and entered the car. Her mind kept drifting to different concerns that Old Xav noticed.

"Did something happen Miss Safiyya?" he asked concerned.

"Not at all Old Xav," she quickly forced a smile. Was it so obvious? She wondered.

Old Xav hummed in response and she checked her face, gently tapping the contours. She knew that Joseph needed companionship now and a grumpy her would make him sad, so she'd better look her best.

"Don't worry. No condition is permanent," she heard Old Xav say.

Safiyya smiled and nodded. They arrived at the house and after saying goodbye to him, she went inside to meet her son.

"Salam!" she called out excitedly and Joseph grinned from the couches and ran over to her.

"Welcome back Mummy," he beamed and hugged her. Safiyya held him softly with her chin on his head. When she is with her son, all her problems feel like air because he is her safe abode.

Joseph pulled back and huffed his cheeks like he was holding something back.

"Spill it," Safiyya narrowed her eyes suspiciously.

Joseph shook his head and said, "Go freshen up first Mummy, I have tonnnns of things to say,"

Safiyya could feel his excitement, so she nodded and went upstairs first. She took a hot bath and changed into a comfy white pajamas and fluffy cap before coming downstairs.

"My angel!" Joseph waved at her from the kitchen. She walked over and gasped as she saw sandwiches on the table.

"Tada!" He spread his arms with a wide grin.

"Oh Allah. You made this?!" Safiyya exclaimed as she rushed over. It looked so neat and palatable that it took her by surprise.

"I did," Joseph held his hips confidently.

"But how?" she couldn't help but ask.

"Sit first," he laughed and pulled her to sit. She looked at him intently as his bright green eyes shined happily. "I've watched you make some Mummy and for the past few days, I practiced. So, here is the perfect form," he explained.

Safiyya was agape because he did all this hidden from her. She smiled warmly and cupped his face, giving him a long kiss on the forehead. "You are amazing baby," she told him and he closed his eyes in contentment.

"Taste it though," he pointed out.

"I bet that it tastes heavenly," she said and tasted it. She blinked before ruffling his hair. "You have amazing hands. Masha Allah,"

Joseph giggled and he sat down as they were together. He drank a full glass of milk before taking a deep breath. Safiyya sat down properly as she knew what was coming.
