The rest of the week I spent being sick at home. I guess, I got cold while we were cleaning the stadium. During the weekend my family and I went out of town.
"Emma! Wake up!" My brother shouted from behind the door of my room. We got back home very late last night, so I guess I overslept.
He knocked loudly at my door and walked away. I slowly got up and in fifteen minutes I was ready. Cameron was driving today, so I slept for good ten more minutes.
Walking in the classroom I wished I did not wake up this morning. Kat was sitting in Patrick's lap and he was whispering something in her ear, making her smile. I wished I was in her place. Quickly shaking the thoughts away from my mind I took a seat at the other side of the room. The class started and boy was it boring. I was struggling not to fall asleep. In the middle of the lesson the door opened and the guy from last week entered the room.
"I cannot believe who my eyes are seeing!" The teacher said with surprise. "Daniel, are you sure you are feeling alright?" She joked. I guess it was rare for him to attend to school.
"Yes, Mrs. Davis. I plan on surprising you more often." He took the seat behind me.
"I am sorry, Mrs. Davis, but I was asked by Mr. Chapin to let Emma know that after lunch she has to join the rest of the cheerleaders at the gym." Chloe, one of the girls I was getting along from the team, opened the door few minutes after Daniel came in.
I gave her a quick nod and she excused herself before closing the door.
The bell rang for the class break and everyone started leaving the room. When I got up and turned around to leave I almost bumped into Daniel.
"Morning, beautiful." He said with a smirk on his face.
I bit my lip hiding my smile. No, Emma. Be tough.
"It's Emma. Hard to remember such a short name?" I coldly stated and walked past him. He let out a chuckle from behind but I ignored it.
I saw Mr. Chapin, the coach, walk fast towards me.
"Jameson! In my office, now!" He shouted looking behind me. "James, you know you must be in the gym after lunch, right?" He then added in a calm tone looking at me.
"Yes, sir."
"Good." He moved his eyes to the person who came beside me.
"I haven't done anything, what it is?" When I heard Daniel's voice I walked away, leaving them to their talk.
The rest of the classes were normal, what I did not find normal was at lunch time. I was sitting with my team talking, well mostly listening to the gossips. When Daniel entered the dining hall tension filled up the space and most girls had their eyes on him, not that I was blaming them. In few minutes everything went back to normal.
"What's with that guy? I've never seen him before, he shows up for two days and the whole school goes crazy." I whispered to Chloe.
"He is the captain of our soccer team and won us the athletics cup two years in a row, plus he is the dream boy to most of the girls. I mean who doesn't like bad boys? Even I have daydreamed of going out with him." She explained, not removing her eyes off him.
"I was told that he is trouble, if I can put it that way." I shared with her and she looked at me wide eyed.
"Well... of course, silly. You wanna end up heartbroken, he's the man for the job. He is a player. He knows every girl in school craves his attention, so he has dated like half of the girls in here." I blinked few times from what I just heard and looked at him before returning to my meal.
I was in the changing room when Natasha, one of the drama queens from the team, screamed as she entered the room. We all stopped whatever we were doing at looked at her questionably.
"Daniel Jameson is in the gym." I laughed out loud at her, which made everyone turn to me.
"What?" I chuckled. "I don't see the big deal of it." I tied my shoes and walked away, fearing that they might kill me.
In few minutes we were given orders to warm up. All off the sudden, all girls became stiff.
"Hey, petal. I did not expect you to be a cheerleader." I heard, guess who, chuckle behind me.
I turned around, crossed my hands and looked coldly at him. I don't know why I was acting like that around him.
"Got a problem with that?" I spat at him.
The girls behind me started whispering angrily if I was insane, what was wrong with me and that he was gorgeous.
"Not at all, fistey." He paused and looked at the other girls. "I'm happy you will cheer for me this year." He continued in a cheeky tone.
"Owh baby, go baby, yay."I said annoyed and without any emotion on my face. "Beat it." I turned around and got my pompons .
"What?"I asked looking at the girls who's faces were shocked.
"You're crazy." One of the girls said as she looked at me with her brows raised up.
I shook my head and we all returned to our training.
My brother walked in the gym few minutes before we were done. When I saw him I ran to him.
"Hey. We are going to the cinema, wanna come?" He asked when I reached him.
"Who are we?"
"Me, Bianca, Kat, Patrick and Michael. I thought that since we will we going like couples Michael will feel awkward..."
"You want me to be Michael's date?" I felt anger boiling up in me.
"Well... yeah. He's a really nice g..." I stopped him with my hand before he could continue. Looking to the other side of the gym where the guys were standing. Daniel was showing tricks with the ball to the rest of the boys.
"Give me a second." I told my brother and walked to them.
When Daniel saw me he stopped and looked at me with a grin.
"What is it, doll face?" I couldn't believe it after I was acting like a total btch towards him, he was still talking to me in a, well let's say, his kind of good manner.
"Will you come for a second?"
"Why would I? I thought you told me to "beat it"?" He teased, but I did not have time for his little games now. Grabbing his hand I started leading him to Cameron. Ignoring the wooing from his team mates.
"I am afraid I have someone to come with too." I stated to my brother when we were in front of him.
"Owh... I-I did not know you were seeing with someone." My brother looked at me wide eyed.
"Well... if you did not ditch me behind since you got your self a girlfriend, you could have know." I was angry with my brother about that... we weren't even talking at home. And now with the way he tried to set me up with Michael, set me up on fire.
"This is Daniel. Daniel, that's my brother, Cameron." I introduced them to one another.
They shook hands and my brother looked at me. I knew he felt foolish of what I told him.
"In front of the cinema at seven, we will pick the movie on place." He explained.
"Alright, good luck finding a date for Michael." I spat at him and walked to the changing room.
