The month passed by quicker than any other in my life. Danny and I were together most of the time, he raised his appraisals and teachers started taking him seriously. And if you are wondering if we did it, no, we did not. I told him I want to take things slowly. Patrick and I barely spoke to each other, I guess it was better that way. I still felt butterflies in my stomach by just hearing him speak and it was making me feel guilty.
The weeks of December passed even quicker and we were one week away from the Christmas celebration.
We were at our ordinary gym class. As usual Patrick and his friend were sitting. He and Kat did not get along lately, but I guess everyone has their good and bad moments. I was trying to do the tricks with the soccer ball. Danny was teaching me and I must say I was getting the hang of it.
"Emma?" He asked, making me stop what I was doing. "Will you be my date at the Christmas celebration? I know we are together but I thought I should ask you anyways." He said in a carefree tone, trying to act cool.
"Hmm... depends." I said and walked few steps away from him.
"On what?" He asked, crossing his hands.
"If you will catch me!" I quickly said and started running. I was laughing my lungs out and it wasn't long until he caught me from behind.
"Noooo!" I laughed it out, holding his hands in mine, as his arms were around my waist. He gave me a quick peck on the cheek before turning me around. I let out a giggle when he pecked my nose and before I knew it I was picked up bridal style.
"I've got myself a snowflake for the celebration!" He shouted and ran around holding me in his arms, making me laugh from joy.
In few minutes he landed me on my feet and kissed my forehead. Funny, right? The so called bad boy in school was so gentle and sweet.
"I'll go change." I told him and walked away to the changing rooms.
I was putting my sweatshirt when the door opened. Turning around I saw Patrick. My eyes got wide from surprise.
"It's the girls changing room."
"I know."
"Is everything alright?" I asked, picking up my bag.
"You were right." He said dully.
"About what?"
"I can't forget the image." He said leaning with his back on the wall.
"Patrick, what are you talking about?" I asked in a worried tone. He wasn't behaving in a normal way.
"The night, at the bowling. I can't forget how he picked you up, after you scored the second strike." He paused for a little bit. "Every looks he gives you I get sicker and sicker." He whispered.
I dropped my bag on the ground, shocked.
"Emma... I know that this is horrible, but I messed up. I got the wrong girl." He pushed himself off the wall and walked until he was right in front of me. His fingers lifted my chin up and our eyes met. I felt my eyes tear up as my chin trembled. He opened his mouth with a little bit of a smile on it.
"Now it him when it could've been you." I whispered feeling a tear roll down my cheek. "Why it's him when it should've been you?" I moved my face from his fingers, picked up my bag and stormed out of the changing room.
I could not believe what I just told him. I felt so bad. I know we did not do anything, but I felt horrible. I confessed my feelings to someone, while being in a relationship.
I was at my locker when someone came and hugged me from behind. I closed my eyes and rested my head backwards. Taking a deep breath the sense of cigarettes and male perfume made Daniel's face appear in my mind and I smiled.
"You know, I heard that there will be a party at Natasha's house. Wanna go?" he whispered, his lips gently touching my ear.
"When is that?" I breathed out.
"Tomorrow's night." He bit my ear. "We might even get the chance to have fun, just the two of us, you know how many rooms her house has." He whispered in a deep voice.
I turned around and looked at him.
"Danny, please."I paused a little feeling stupid, because I was almost 18 and still haven't slept with a guy. Speaking of which, I forgot to say, how happy I am from the fact that all bad rumors about me are left in the past, especially since me and Daniel got together. Maria never dared to torture me again.
"Don't you trust me?"
"I do, I just don't feel ready yet." I mumbled the last part.
He pulled out a cigarette and put it in his mouth.
"It's alright, doll face. I'll pick you up at nine."I could tell that he got a little pissed.
"Won't you..."
"No." He cut me off, caressed my cheek. "Bye, doll."
I watched him walk away, I hated it when he called me names like that, made me feel like I was nothing different than his exes. I don't want to be just a pretty doll in his hands. I put my coat on and walked outside.
