I got to school earlier than usual so I decided to take a down the long hallway of Cali High. Just then, I heard my name and then someone hugged me from behind, momentarily frightening me. I broke into a huge smile when I saw it was my bestie Sid Stuart.
"Sid! When did you get back from your vacation?"
"Forget my vacation Kitty, you'll never guess what" Sid said excitedly and my eyes widened
"Your brother finally forgave you for killing his gold fish?" I gasped
"Kitty! You're not supposed to talk about that. That secret is between you, me and my brother" She whispered harshly
"Sorry, I just can't stop thinking about it, don't you ever wonder what it was thinking when you were flushing it down the toilet? It'll have been all like 'Sid, Sid, don't flush me down the toilet, I'm your brother's goldfish" I said making weird noises with my mouth and twirling but I stopped abruptly when I saw Sid's expression.
"Sooooo, what do you want to tell me?" I smiled trying to avoid her glare. She glared a little longer but she told me anyway.
"Guess who I found out is going to be attending my school"
I raised my brow. "Do you really want me to guess again?"
"Nevermind, I'll tell you" she rolled her eyes and then paused for dramatic effect while I stared at her expectantly. "The person is... Jacques Carter" she squealed and I gasped
"Holy Shit! Are you kidding me? Where did you get this information? Are you sure you're not having a fever?" I tried to feel her temperature but she swatted my hand away
"I'm serious Kitty, almost everyone knows about this. The news some how got leaked online"she said earnestly and I noticed the school was too full for the first day of resumption
"Online? I haven't been online since last Thursday" I muttered bringing out my phone and searching for the news. It didn't take long before I found the headline.
"Oh My Gosh Sid! Jacques Carter is coming here!" I said and we both started to squeal happily
"Ah! I knew it, I knew the snow was a good sign" I said excitedly
"Of course it is, nothing bad ever comes up with snow"
"Actually there are snow storms, snow accidents, sno-"
"Enough with the listing" Sid cut me off. "I just can't believe I'll be in the same class with a super star"
"I know right? No wonder the school I filled with students and no wonder you're dressed so nicely" I replied staring at her. She was wearing a short, pink dress and cute white sandals. Her blonde hair was nicely and she even had on light make up.
"You should have given me a heads up so I could doll up too" I accused with a frown
"What do you need a heads up for? You already look prettier than me" she defended and I scoffed
"Betraying you? How am I betraying yo-"
"What's up ladies? Hope you didn't miss me too much?" Theodore grinned as he came to stand beside me
"Theo! You're back" I beamed happily
"Yep, I couldn't bear to keep my cutie waiting"he grinned patting my head
"Quit lying Theo, didn't your mom threaten to seize your car when your vacation?" Sid rolled her eyes
"You know just because you're my cousin doesn't mean you can butt into my business whenever you want"
"Well that is exactly what it means to me Theo, besides, Kitty is my best friend and I don't like you flirting with her"
"Flirting? I was just showing my genuine care to MY friend" he replied laying emphasis on 'my'
"Yeah whatever" Sid rolled her eyes again. Theo was what you'd call an high school hunk. He was tall and handsome with a perfect set of teeth and shiny olive skin. Like Sid, he had golden hair and black eyes and has been my friend since 8th grade. He never tried to hide his crush on me but that was all it was- a crush...... A playful crush.
"Where's Zayn?" Sid asked glancing at her wrist watch. "It's almost time for class"
"He's probably taking more to dress cause he does not want his 'hotness' to be overshadowed by Jacques" Theo said, air quoting 'hotness'
"Geez even Theo knows about it. Am I leaving under a rock or something?" I asked
"Seems like it" Sid nodded and I gave her a jab with my elbow. "What? You asked the question"
"A rhetorical question"
"Well you really need to start making your questions more clear" she replied and I sighted Zayn walking towards us. As he drew nearer, I shifted closer to Theo.
"Sup guys" he greeted
"Wow Theo. You were right after all" Sid smiled
"I told you he'd be different today" Theo smirked
Zayn looked confused."What are you guys talking about?"
"You really took your time picking out this outfit, it's like you're dressed for a runway show" Sid said
"What do you mean? I always dress like this" he frowned
"No you don't" I replied and he immediately fixed me a glare
"I wasn't talking to you Kitty"
I rolled my eyes. "Come on Zayn, you can't possibly still be mad at me"
"You can't possibly be thinking I'll forgive you that easily"
"What the heck are you both yapping about" Sid interrupted our bickering
"Kitty stole my limited edition crocs"
"Ok 'stole' is a strong word Zayn, I only took it" I defended
"There are limited edition crocs?" Sid asked
"You should see those crocs Sid, they are so gorgeous" I grinned
"Oh yeah, I think I've seen, he posted a pic of it. Where did you get those?"
"That's not the point Theo, you guys are not helping" Zayn frowned
"Helping with what exactly? You're supposed to be over this already. Wasn't it like 3 days ago?"
"It was yesterday Kitty"
"Are you sure? Cause it really feels like 3 days ago" I said but then I sighed when I saw his expression. "Fine, I'm sorry Zayn, I shouldn't have have taken your crocs and I promise to return them....Soon"
"Soon? You know what? Never mind. I've got to of em anyway"
"Wait, you have another one?" I asked and he nodded. "So why were you even mad in the first place? Such a drama queen"
"Oh so I'm a drama queen for getting mad that you stole my crocs?" Zayn glared
"Ok firstly, I already told you I DID NOT STEAL IT and secondly, you have another one for Christ's sake" I said and he was about to reply me when the bell for class rang
"Let's get to class guys. The teacher will be in soon" Sid quickly interrupted us to prevent another argument
"Who's our teacher this term? I hope it's not Mr Logan" Theo asked as we headed back to class
"Thankfully it's not, it's Mrs Laurie, our biology teacher"
"Not bad, but it would have been better if she taught something else"
"Like what?" Sid asked
"I don't know, maybe P.E" Theo replied and gave him a mocking smile
"Why? So you can work up some on those flabs of yours?"
"No" Theo said fixing him a glare. "It's because P.E is fun"
"I don't think it's fun at all besides Mrs Laurice is as sweet and nice as she can get and biology isn't all bad" I said
"That's to you Kitty, not all of us are not nerds you know" Zayn muttered as we sat on our seats. I sat close to the window and Zayn sat next to me while Theo sat behind us. My seat was a little far from Sid's cause she is scared of heights. Zayn was called by the principal so he asked me to save his seat for him.
"Good morning students" Mrs Laurice entered the class wearing a big smile and a blue dress that looked good on her plump body
"Good morning Mrs Laurice" we chorused
"I hope you all had a refreshing holiday. Well, I have exciting news for you guys. A new student will be joining us today, Jacques?" She called out softly and he walked in looking more handsome than I could have ever imagined. He walked in slowly and stood confidently in front of the class with his hands tucked into his pockets.
"Please introduce yourself to the class" Mrs Laurice beamed. Like he needed an introduction for anyone to know him.
"Hi guys, I'm Jacques, Jaques Carter" he said in the most melodious voice I've ever heard and I almost screamed along with my already squealing classmates but I controlled myself.
