i ran along the walkway,
wielding her in my arms.
she laid limp like deadweight,
as we escaped her troubled home's harms.

it all happened so fast,
when she was caught by her dad.
he hadn't yet forgiven her for the past,
when she had run away from the home that was far more than bad.

it's okay now, because i dealt with him.
we won't have to worry about that man,
but, however, her bloody body appeared very grim,
as her shirt was now bright red, but was originally cyan.

through the double doors we went,
down the hall and to the left.
i barged through the door without doctor's consent,
and received looks as if i had just committed theft.

i laid her down on the hospital bed,
as the doctors flooded into the room.
one began to roughly examine her head,
which made me begin to fume.

soon, the doctor quit,
and exited the room.
now, it was time to say it,
i couldn't keep it in anymore.

there was so much i wanted to say,
about how she had caused my heart to break.
i could've said i wanted her to pay,
and talk about how she's such a snake.

ever since that one, ordinary day
when i confessed to her how i felt,
then all she did was run away,
this was the beginning of the damage dealt.

she toyed with my feelings and led me along,
as if i was just a little game.
i now feel it was my fault all along,
but i knew, my feelings, i must attempt to tame.

"kathren, loving you is killing me." i said in a sorrowful tone,
"but, however, i can't stop myself from doing so."
the tears in her eyes, plus facial expressions shown,
showed how she could possibly feel remorseful, though.

"i saved your life at the cost of my own."
i said while stepping back from the bed.
for her, surely, what i meant was unknown.
she laid there, confused, as no more words were said.

we held eye contact for quite some time,
as tears flooded down her cheeks.
the door swung open as i assured myself i'd be fine,
but i felt my body begin to grow weak.

then, officers flooded into the room,
and came at me as if they were going to attack.
i could see that kathren was beginning to fume,
because all she wanted was her best friend back.

the men in black forced my hands behind my back,
as they did so, i didn't make a sound.
one tightened the handcuffs, leaving no slack,
he then, finally, turned me around.

for then our eyes met,
"you're under arrest for murder."
though, i held no regret,
because i did it all for her.
