Finally, it's the marriage day. All the ladies are going from one house to another, then coming back to the house. Hustle bustle is going on from here to there and echoes of excitement of all the people can be heard. They all are more excited for my wedding than I am in actual. They don't know the truth, maybe because of that.
"Take this" Said Jannat's mother offering me some fruits and snacks.
"I don't have an appetite" I said.
Don't know why I am not feeling hungry today, not thirsty too. Maybe because of stress.
"Then also, eat it. Because after this you will be sent to get ready and then marriage rituals would start and after that marriage would be there. You will not get time to eat after this. So eat it" She said and I nodded.
She is right. Who can be hungry for that long. I noticed that Urwa's mother is nowhere to be seen. I knew that Jannat's mother knew that I brought her here the last night.
Flashback
"Just sleep now!" I said to Urwa's mother.
"But--" She tried to say but I cut off her and said- "No ifs and buts, just sleep!"
She slept and when I got up to lock the door, what I saw . It was Jannat's mother standing at the door.
"You--" I stumbled upon my words and stopped.
"You should have not bring her here" She said.
"But the place where she was staying, if she would have stayed there for more days without any basic needs she would have died and I didn't want Urwa to be an orphan at this early age" I said.
"You're absolutely right but you don't know the people of here. Customs are more important for them than any person's life. If anybody got to knew that you brought her here, they'll make your life hell" She said and I was silent.
