" You'll be fine, Florence, Cherie. " Her hand came up to run her fingers through Flora's dirty blonde locks, smiling down comfortingly with her wine red lips.

Flora never liked hospitals, despite spending almost every day there. She hated everything about them. The smell of medicine and chemicals, the depressed souls weeping in the waiting room and the genuine aura of heartbreak and loss that surrounded her every time she went.

But she sucked it up, because if she didn't there was almost an 50% chance she'd be dead. Being a clumsy, rule-breaking six year old and with her disease, weekly trips to the hospital were a must for her safety.

" Florence Auclair ? " The door opened, revealing a tanned, brunette woman in pale pink scrubs and a colourful overcoat. She had a tight smile on her face when her eyes landed on the small six year old swinging her legs in the chair.

Ashlynn smiled, helping her daughter out the high chair — it wasn't actually that high, Flora was just pretty short for her age — and wrapped her tiny hand around hers and followed the Doctor into the room.

" My name is Dr. McCall, but I assume since we'll be seeing eachother indefinitely, you can call me Melissa. " The woman smiled brightly down at Flora, holding her hand out for the blonde to shake. She did so, hesitantly, Melissa immediately noticing the new scrape down the back of her hand.

" Where did you get this, Sweetie? " Melissa asked, lifting Florence's hand closer to her eyes to inspect it for any dirt or early signs of infection. " Playing with her little sister. Aurora sure knows how to scratch and Flora doesn't know when to pull away. "

Melissa smiled, shaking her head. " Well, I'd assume just that. " She opened the drawer beside her rolling chair, and pulled out a set of cartoon themed plasters.

" What one do you want, Dear? " Melissa held out the options, Florence staring down wide eyed at the multiple choices before her. Her hand hovered over the boxes before her index finger pointed to the Hello Kitty themed plaster.
