Seokjin p.o.v
I froze right there on the floor, hearing my brother's voice.
He drunkenly fell beside me and pointed at the petals around us with a trembling finger.
"W-What are these?"
His eyes were red but wide with terror. I stared at him, unable to speak. I was as much as shocked as him.
"Is this b-blood?"
He blinked his eyes, probably trying to take a better look through his blurred vision.
"N-No" I finally answered, finding my voice.
He snapped his head up. "Did you try to kill someone? Is this his blood?"
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I killed someone?
"What makes you think like that? I told you already, this isn't blood. This is marinara sauce. I dropped the bottle by accident."
Taehyung giggled. "You're such a loser."
They say what people blabber when they're drunk is the truth of how they actually feel about things. And I had my fair share of reasons to believe it. My own brother thinks i'm a loser.
Nothing to be surprise of. In one way or another, I've been a loser. Like, not kicking his ass for being disrespectful. I'm a loser, alright.
Taehyung hold onto the counter top with all his strength and helped himself up. Then he swayed away into his room, not even minding to remove his shoes or snow-covered coat.
I felt the odour of alcohol flowing across the trail he left. I balled my eyes, getting rid of the stray tears. Then I sat on my knees, collected the blood covered petals and stuffed them into paper bag. Then I threw it inside the bin. Can't risk anyone seeing them. Not even a conscious Taehyung.
Then I fetched the mop and wiped out the blood stains on the floor. It felt like I was in one of those homicide stories Namjoon told us. Someone clearing evidence. Except this wasn't someone else's blood.
It was half past midnight when I finally laid on my bed. But I wasn't sleepy. I could hear Taehyung snoring in the next room. I sighed again.
I wondered where my parents might be right then. Maybe somewhere in middle-east with rich Arabic people. Or Australia. My dad had always loved watching cricket and Team Australia was his favorite for some reason. So they've probably met the whole team and compiled a collection of their autographs.
I thought back to the times we visited our grandma in Nova Scotia, during Christmas Holidays. I was happy back then. All five of us, huddled together in the small cosy place beside the fireplace, listening to grandma's stories. Of course Taehyung threw a fit about how boring she and her stories were but at least we were together as a family. The trip became an annual thing for years until my parents decided to leave us. Taehyung was only 19 then and I was 22. They didn't tell us where they were going. Just that they'd be home soon. But they never came back. At first I thought they were dead. But an year later dad sent me a mail, apologizing for their sudden departure. Told me to look after Taehyung. And I did. The best I could.
Three years later, grandma died. We flied back to Nova Scotia and arranged the funeral. Mom and dad weren't there. For some reason, grandma had written over her house to me. I was grateful but Taehyung became furious hearing my grandma's last will from her lawyer. But, I cooled him down by saying he could have it after getting married.
However, we didn't travel all the way up to Nova Scotia again after her death. I planned on giving her house to a charity place but Taehyung didn't agree. So it just sat there, thousands of miles away in Canada for years.
Now that I'm 27 and literally about to join my grandma up there, I thought about visiting her place one last time. Me, Taehyung and Jungkookie. I haven't told anyone yet about the place so it'd be a sweet surprise for him. I could imagine his cute face -bambi eyes widened, thin rosy lips parted- while staring at the lovely little place.
I chuckled to myself. My imagination was running wild. I pictured sitting on that cozy sofa with Jungkookie beside me. I was telling him a story my grandma had told us. Something about a man made out of candies. I saw him letting out that little jingle-bell laugh I'd always adored. Then I would stare into those beautiful crinkled eyes and lean in.
And then I fell asleep.
.............
"Hey, buddy!"
It was Namjoon, calling me at 7a.m in the morning. I balled out my droopy eyes and sat on the bed.
"It's Saturday for god's sake." I grumbled.
"Yeah, that's exactly why I called ya." Namjoon's voice was shaking with excitement. "We're gonna contine our shooting class the whole day. What do you say?"
I yawned. "Okay, I'll be there."
"Great! See you soon Seokjin-ah"
"See ya"
I disconnected the line and pushed myself out of the bed. I slipped my feet into the slippers and waddled into the bathroom.
When I got out of the room all dressed, I heard the clattering of the bowls in the kitchen. I walked over there to be met with the ever beautiful smile on Jungkookie's face. He was preparing cereal for the three of us.
"Morning hyungie!" He greeted, pulling out a chair for me.
"Morning Jungkookie!" I smiled at him.
"Are you going somewhere?" He asked pouring milk into my bowl.
I nodded. "Yoongi's place."
He nodded back thoughtfully. I wondered if he remembered anything he told me last night. But he seemed contained and calmed.
"Hello babe!" I rolled my eyes when Taehyung strolled into the kitchen and gave Jungkook a long, hard kiss on the lips. "It's Saturday!!"
Jungkook gave him a small smile. "We could go see the new lion cub at the zoo?"
Taehyung swatted away his hand disapprovingly.
"That's stupid babe." He grinned, running his hands over Jungkook's back and cupping his butt cheeks. "Why should we waste our free time on watching dumb animals when we could have some fun? If you want, I could be an animal. In bed."
Then he laughed out loud, like he just made a good joke. I cleared my throat.
"I think you should let Jungkook decide for once, what to do on a damn Saturday."
"Seriously?" Taehyung asked, still laughing. "No wonder you're still alone."
"Hey" Jungkook yelled, clearly annoyed of his offensive words. But i shrugged it off.
"It's fine Jungkookie." I put on the last spoon of cereal into my mouth and got up. "I'll better leave."
And I saw the look on Jungkook's face. Something between disappointment and agony. I couldn't stand there anymore. I grabbed my winter jacket and ran off from there. Before I headed out I heard Taehyung say something like 'sex city', and it nearly made me puke.
No, Taehyung doesn't deserve Jungkook. Or anyone else.
