Seokjin p.o.v
"Are you sure he's not gonna be there?" Jungkook questioned for the third time since we got into my car.
I gave him a reassuring smile. "I don't think he was lying cuz He seemed so desperate for the money. In fact, I'm hundred percent sure he planned on pulling this stunt months ago."
Jungkook nodded. Then he fell into a pit of heavy thoughts for a while. I removed my right hand off the wheel and placed it on his left. He looked at me.
"I'm sorry for letting him get near you, Jungkookie." I said, my gaze still on the road. "I'm truly sorry."
I could hear his breath changing it's rhythm. "I think it should be the other way around, Jin hyung."
"What do you mean?" I asked, throwing him a brief glance.
"Y-You had to suffer because of me." Jungkook replied, his voice a mere whisper. "You should've told me about that disease before. I-I didn't knew you were in such pain. I mean, y-you were coughing up blood because of... m-me. I wouldn't have let that happen. I-I"
I shushed him by gently squeezing his fingers. "I-It's alright honey. I'm sure it won't happen again cuz you're with me now. You cured me sweetheart."
I could feel his innocent gaze on me. "I-I did?"
"Yes Jungkookie, I'm a healthy man now, because of you!?"
I heard him exhale a sigh. "B-But what about your car? And the house he talked about? In Nova Scotia?"
My lips tightened, remembering my ruined plan on visiting there with Jungkook someday. But I shook that off with a nod. "I might lose them. But don't worry, I could buy another one next year."
"But the house in Nova Scotia? Does that belongs to your parents?"
"My grandma. She wrote it over to me before her death but.. Honestly, I'm not sad about passing it on to Taehyung. I was going gift it to him anyway."
"But I know you love the peugeot." he sounded miserable.
I did love my car. It was the first vehicle I brought, three years ago. It ran just fine for hundreds of miles, only having to bring it down to the service station twice. Now I have to sell my baby. But if it's for Jungkook, I would've sold my kidneys or brains or whatever I had.
........................
It was almost 12 in the afternoon when we finally reached my home. I entered the passcode and went in, expecting anything in return. But he wasn't there. Just like I thought.
Jungkook trailed behind me in suspicion but as soon as he saw the apartment was empty, heaved a sigh of relief.
"Make yourself comfortable." I said, removing my coat. He gave me a shy smile and sat on the couch in front of the tv. Even though he had sat there for almost every single day since last year, it felt a little odd this time. Something different in the perspective. Yesterday, he was sitting there as Taehyung's boyfriend. But now the tables've turned. Jungkook didn't belong to Taehyung anymore. He belonged to me now. Kim Seokjin, a simple Mechanical Engineer who worked under a shipping company. Suddenly, I felt an inexplainable desire to prove it for myself. That Jeon Jungkook belonged to me and only me.
I stepped over to him, bent down and tilted his face up with my fingers. He stared at me with those large brown eyes, a pink hue spreading across his cheeks. I saw his eyes flicker onto my lips for a second. I didn't waste anymore time as I closed the gap between our lips for the third time that day. Jungkook craned his neck up to get a better angle but I didn't let him bother. I cupped his face and pushed him gently back to the headrest, careful not to break the kiss. He ran his fingers behind my neck and tangled them in my damp hair. I pressed my lips a little harder and slipped my tongue into his mouth. He moaned slightly and let me have the control.
