𝐒𝐀𝐊𝐔𝐒𝐀 𝐊𝐈𝐘𝐎𝐎𝐌𝐈 was standing there, right in front of you with his long arms rigid at his sides, feet glued to the glossy, refined floors, his expression blank and eyes staring. his head was turned to you, coal black irises boring into yours in speculation.

it had been months since you last saw him. months since you even talked.

you didn't know what came over you. maybe it was the aspect of suddenly seeing sakusa in so long, your mind surprised and unanticipated at him standing in front of you. maybe it was how his tight ass shorts were still so fucking tight, just as how you saw them months before, that brought up old memories. maybe it was the completely tedious and repetitive atmosphere of the gym, with continual and insistent sounds of volleyballs slamming into floor that made your mind wake up.

or maybe, just maybe, it was that tiny part of your mind, the one you buried down beneath without a chance to surface long ago impossibly creeping its way back up and seizing your mind and rationale, the one that had missed sakusa all these days, weeks, months. the one that screamed every single day inaudibly to talk to him again and resolve whatever had happened because that part of your mind needed it. the one that clawed away at your heart, piercing through, making your affliction rise detrimentally. the one that made missing sakusa hurt.

maybe it was that little part of your mind that ignored atsumu, who shifted uncomfortably against you, his arm airily withholding your body from moving until he stopped. maybe it was that little part of your mind that rose you up, off the sturdy bench and to your feet, your shoes level against the smooth floor.

you didn't really know which it was, and at the time, didn't have any thought to care as your feet moved as if with a mind of its own, the control your head had over your actions seemingly absent. sakusa's body didn't move, not even an inch as if he were a statue, feet stuck to the floor resolutely and body stuck to the air unwaveringly.

"sakusa! it's— it's been so long!" your voice sounded eager, confounded, maybe even a little despairing as the words suddenly tumbled out of your mouth when you were standing right in front of him. school had finished, and the weight of your studies were lifted off of you, the barrier of your educational priorities diminished between the both of you.  "how have you—"

you didn't get to finish when sakusa's own voice spoke over yours. "get out of my way."

blunt and cold, the words domineered over your own, your previous vocable clung to your throat, remaining there and unable to speak out. sakusa's expression contorted.

it was different now — eyebrows furrowed but not in the way they would when he was facetiously annoyed. eyes penetrating the strong resilience your gaze held, destroying it with a blink, but not in the way they would when he was ludicrously insulting someone. jaw locked tightly, muscles springing from the sides of his cheeks with the faint, almost inaudible sound of his teeth clacking but not the way they would when he was attentively focused on something.
