Rai had no choice but to drop out of college for the sake of her fath...
After two months of finishing the book, I thought I'd finally give an explanation to those of you who want/need it. However, this explanation is merely my interpretation and I don't want it to overpower your own interpretation for my ending. This is just for those who need some disclosure.
☻☻☻ The ending was left like that on purpose to convey the loop of their relationship. I wanted to reveal the reality and toxicity of their relationship such as, how Rai felt betrayed after he used a weapon on her when she was most vulnerable with him. This was only an issue because Rai had difficulties in accepting who he really was and how his "mob lifestyle" meant blood not only on that weapon used on her, but his hands also. Now, although he apologised, having read the book, we know he is bound to do such a thing to her again. Hence, the loop. Rai will never leave him and he will never fully be able to have his character development. ☻☻☻
