LONELY HEART

I blame the deceiving fairy tales,
For the shame and slowly growing pains.
Convinced that every princess has a prince,
But I haven't met mine; at least not since.
Is it that royalty is meant for the chosen;
Or am I insignificant, tossed to be forgotten.

All I want is to meet THAT ONE,
Who'll treat me like I'm THE ONE.
Who'll reply when I talk to the moon,
Or write back to me sooner than soon.
To the shooting stars I heartily whisper;
Grant my fading wish, find me a mister.
Who'll love me with all his heart;
And apologize when I feel hurt.

I desire a hand to tightly hold;
Just wish my heart was slightly bold.
My reality locked in a cage so cold;
But I mask it all, after the tears have flowed.
In silence I watched them come and go;
And my feelings with the wind to later blow.
I count them; one, two, three and four;
Call me Unlucky; they all left me sore.

Watching as others find their way,
Waiting for my own perfect day.
In my lonely I wait with bated breath,
For love to finally conquer life and death.
Playing the clips over and over again,
Of those who 'forever after' they claim.
Counting the moments passed by time,
Hoping true love will one day be mine.
For if fate deems it's meant to be,
Love will surely find its way to me.
