I was waiting on the Curtis's front porch nervous as I waited for them to return from whatever expedition Darry had planned for them, luckily they were just pulling up. Soda stomped up the porch steps with a bad attitude, "Some special lake Darry, thanks for taking my sulking time away." Darry came up behind him and lightly smacked him in the back of the head ushering him inside, Ponyboy soon followed, last but not least Steph sauntered up the stairs towards me. She smiled, "Steve what are you still doing here? I thought you were gonna head home," "Well I did head home, but I came back...to wait for you," "Okay...why?." I stood there silent until for a few seconds before hesitantly speaking, "Well...I-.....I wanted to ask you something Steph," "What's up?" "See I wanted to ask you this on Christmas, but since we won't see each other on Christmas, I figured I'd ask you now." I grabbed both of her hands and held them in mine, "Stephanie Judith Curtis, I've loved you since the moment I laid my eyes on you and I never wanted to fall for you because you are by best friends older sister, but I did anyways and I was lucky enough for you to fall for me," "Of course I fell for you!! I love you Steve," "Well, will you marry me then?." She looked at me taken back, I quickly bent down on my knee and pulled the ring box out of my pocket and opened it towards her, "Stephanie, will you marry me?."

I could barely breathe, Steve asked me to marry him. I looked down and looked at his gorgeous self holding the ring box open, he looked nervous as he awaited my response. I quickly spoke, "Yes! God, yes! I will marry you." A look of relief came over his face as he stood up, I wrapped my arms around him and pressed my lips against his. He laughed, "I was afraid you were gonna say no," "Why on earth would I say no Steven?" "Well because we've only been dating for a few months and-," "And I've known since the day we met Steve, that we were gonna be together forever...we don't need to have years filled with a certified relationship, 4 months of being official and I still would've married you if you'd asked to marry me the day we starting dating." His face lit up, it was like he was glowing. He passionately kissed me, we slowly pulled away and rested our foreheads against one another. He smirked, "Are you just gonna leave the ring in the box?." I laughed and took the ring out, it was beautiful as it sparkled. Steve slid it onto my ring finger and softly spoke, "I can't wait for you to be my wife," "WIFE?!?." We were interrupted when all of my brothers peeked their heads out of the front door, Darry quickly made his way over to us, with Ponyboy and Soda right on his trail. Sodapop quickly spoke, "Are you guys getting married?!?." I flashed him my ring, "Don't worry, you're gonna be the best man."

12:30 pm

I knocked on the front door of the Curtis house, the door swung open revealing Two-Bit (Keith) Matthews. He stared me down, "Cherry?" "Is Stephanie home?" "Uh yeah, come on in." He allowed me inside to the living room, filled with teenage boys. Ponyboy noticed me, "Cherry?! What brings you by?" "I just came to see Stephanie," "Alright, I will go get her." Ponyboy went up the stairs leaving me with the other boys,  Dally lit a cigarette, "So care to explain this whole mess?" "Well, Steph, Kylee, and I grouped up. I pretended to be best friends with Nancy, got her secrets, and planned to take her down ," "Why?" "Why what?" "Why'd you help Steph and Kylee?" "Because they promised me they'd help me get Bryce, and then I realized...that Steph and Ky are the friends I've always needed and I don't know what I'd do without them." Dally sarcastically clapped his hands, "Wow I'm impressed," "What do you mean?" "I'm impressed that you made friends that aren't complete assholes," "And I wouldn't trade them for the world." Footsteps came down the stairs, Ponyboy stepped down with Steph and Steve in tow. Stephanie brightly smiled at me, "Cherry?!?! What's up??" "Hey! I was just wondering if we could talk?" "Of course." She led me outside to the swing on their front porch, she sat down and sighed, "Is everything alright Cherry? Is Nancy giving you any trouble?" "Well, she did but that's all taken care of now. I just wanted to say thank you," "Thank you?!? For what?!? You're the one who did everything, you revealed the real person that Nancy Walker is...you saved my relationship. I should be thanking you Cherry," "Steph, I owed it to you...for the way I treated you in high school. I was such a bitch! And I'm sorry, you didn't deserve that at all," "Well, I'm sure I wasn't all that pleasant either, so I'm sorry too," "I also wanted to say thank you for helping me land Bryce, I really like him Steph," "I know and I'm glad!! You guys are gonna be perfect together." A bright glitz twinkled in my eye, and I soon quickly noticed the engagement ring on Stephanie's finger. I eagerly smiled, "Stephanie Curtis?! When did this happen?!." I pointed down to her ring and she shyly smiled, "This morning! He asked me to marry him Cherry, and I said yes!!." I wrapped my arms around her happily, "I am so happy for you!!! Does Kylee know?" "Not yet, but we're having a big dinner tonight...like a thanksgiving do over since yesterday was pretty messed up plus I'm leaving tomorrow and so are you, you should come. Everyone's gonna be here, you can even bring Bryce," "Would that be a good idea? After yesterday, your brothers might not be welcome with Bryce and I completely understand that...what he did was awful," "Cherry, I forgive him...and he's important to you, nobody's mad at him. Please come, it would mean the world to me," "Only because you said please."
