Her Point of View

I studied the path the guards were dragging me into.

Left. Straight. Left. Straight. Left. Straight. Right.

The hallway was narrow, it almost felt like it was squeezing me in. In front of me were two guards, same with my back. It's almost impossible to escape.

We walked towards a black door with the same golden logo phoenix carved on it and entered it.

"Boss," A guard greeted and bowed. Diego looked back, his black coat shining with the golden silk designed on it.

"Ah, our lovely Eight." Diego smiled. I locked eyes with him, provoking him. "How are you?" He asked.

I stayed silent. He will never hear me speak again. I will not say nor do anything until he gets tired of me and gets rid of me.

"Mute now, are we?" He sarcastically questioned.

But then again, I stayed silent.

I saw how anger slowly builds up on his face. A sudden fist landed on my cheek. The guards held on to me tighter refusing to let go of me as I would stumble on the ground.

"You will speak when I ask a question." He said and grabbed my hair.

This is the second time you grabbed me through my hair. Is there even something new? I'm getting bored.

The door behind me opened. Footsteps crashing through the wooden floor followed.

"Oh, it's you!" Diego called, pushing my head away. Strands of my hair covered my face, I moved my head to the side to push the hair on my face.

"What's going on?" A man spoke.

Jaehyun.

Until now, I could still feel pain at the thought of him betraying me. I wanted to feel numb but I could physically feel my heart aching. It hurts so much that I can't even look at him.

"Why did you bring her out?" I could feel Jaehyun moving to my right.

"Zach wanted to try something." Diego replied.

Zach?

"The scientist?" Jaehyun asked once more, he only received a nod from Diego.

During that moment, the door opened again. This time I could hear 2 pairs of feet walking through the wooden floor.

"What are you doing here?" Diego asked, his eyebrow raising.

"Master," A female voice was shaking. "I came to hand over the suitcase you made me look for." The woman sounded like she was in her 50s.

"Come here." Diego commanded.

The woman immediately followed and I saw how she walked towards Diego who was in front of me. I could finally see her face.

Her hair was almost white. Her eyes are narrow, she had a slim nose, and her lips are full. She also had wrinkles on her face and her hands had visible callouses.

She looks so familiar. But a thought did not come to me.

Diego looked at her as the woman held her head down, avoiding eye contact with Diego. Her hands were together and I could see her trembling in fear.

"Look at me." Another order from Diego.

As soon as the woman looked up she received a hard slap on her face from Diego. Her body threw to the wooden floor followed by her whimpers.
