Daisy Is Under Her Spell

Chapter Ten

Cassandra

Daisy is awfully quite as we wait for the food to arrive. She's not her normal self right now. I mean, I can't blame her. I just dragged her into this place and she told me she's uncomfortable. The least I can do is to make an effort to keep the place as comfortable as possible.

  "So kumusta ang quiz?" I ask her, giving her my full attention.

  She looks so deep in thoughts na para bang hindi ako narinig nito. I cleared my throat and ask her again. This time, she finally snapped out of her daze to look at me. All blushing.

  She kinda looks cute.

  "Ah, mahirap naman po—ay, hindi. I mean, okay naman po siya. Naka answer naman po ako."

  I can't help but smile a little. "Ahh so I have to make it a bit hard siguro next time noh?"

  Agad itong umiling. "Ikaw talaga attorney, hindi ko naman sinasabi na ganyan. Hehe ano ka ba. Okay na 'yun, tama na 'yun. "

  "Okay, Daisy. If you say so. " I move a bit para makaayos ako ng upo. "You seem tensed, are you alright?"

  Agad naman siyang tumango, "Ah opo, kinakabahan lang kasi hindi ako sanay sa ganitong set-up ng restaurant. "

  "Ohh, " sagot ko. "Then do you prefer we eat inside my office?"

  Mas lalo itong napailing. "Hindi na po, okay na dito. "

  I nodded. "Alright then. "

  Ilang segundo pa ay umayos ito ng pag-upo at tsaka tumingin sa gawi ko. "Matagal na po ba 'tong restaurant mo, miss?"

  "Not really, three years na simula nang mapatayo ko ito. "

  Mahina itong napatango. "Ahh, ang ganda po ng ambient, parang ikaw lang din... "

  I can't help but raise my brow at her. Did she seriously drop that comment?

  "Uhm, thank you?"

  Namumula ang mukha nito but she's looking like she's getting comfortable. "Since wala pa po ang pagkain natin, miss, pwede ba kitang matanong? I mean, hindi ko kasi alam ano ang dapat pag-usapan ng teacher at student eh. "

  I shrug. "Sure. Just not school related kasi I'm not paid for teaching you outside school premise, " I tried joking, which made her chuckle.

  So that's why people keep saying that Daisy's got a charming laugh.

  When I was on my way to the canteen kasi kanina, I overheard students from the other class talking about Daisy. They were complimenting her and it wasn't my intention to listen, but narinig ko na eh. They were saying na ang ganda raw ni Daisy and she's approachable and all. And that most of them admire her.

  Yeah, whatever, good for them.

  "Bakit ka po nagtuturo? Hindi ba nakakapagod maging CPA, Lawyer, tapos restaurant owner?"

  I paused for a moment and said, "I just enjoy it. I also get compensated for sharing my knowledge so it's a win -win for me."
