After a thorough discussion, Chifuyu casually mentioned his growing hunger, prompting the group to consider grabbing a bite. Kol gestured towards a nearby store, and they decided to head there together. While Amalie wasn't particularly famished, she settled for some mochi, whereas Chifuyu and Kol opted for the heartier option of ramen.
" Is Kisaki really going to kill Kol, Amalie, and me ?". Mused Chifuyu, a subtle tension hanging in the air.
" Well, he did eliminate both Kol and you, but Amalie essentially sacrificed herself trying to shield you two". Takemichi calmly replied.
Chifuyu, slightly perplexed, offered his ramen to Takemichi, saying," Want some ?".
" Sure". Takemichi responded, nonchalantly taking the pot from him.
Chifuyu sighed," That future really ticks me off !".
" Yeah, it's a real downer. How on earth did I let myself get easily taken out by that imbecile ?". Kol pondered as he continued slurping his ramen.
" Don't talk with your mouth full, brother; it's rude". Scolded Amalie.
" So, Kisaki was Baji-san's enemy all along ?". Inquired Chifuyu.
Takemichi nodded," Absolutely. No doubt about it. Heard it straight from Kisaki himself in the future".
Amalie, her mood visibly dampened, gazed sadly at her mochi. Now with Takemichi's confirmation that Baji met his end because of Kisaki, anger and sorrow welled up inside her. The realization hit hard that there might have been little she could do to alter the tragic course of events.
Chifuyu, perceptive to her emotions, glared ahead as if Kisaki were right in front of him," I'll damn well kill him ! But not just yet".
Kol, nodding approvingly, remarked," Good call. Set a date, and count me in".
" Yeah, but we have to bide our time. Kisaki commands a hundred men as the third division Captain. There's also the recently formed six division composed of ex-Valhalla members. Compared to them, you and I just took the reins of the first division. We're not fully operational yet". Explained Chifuyu, standing up.
" We could use our powers to disable them, but it could get dicey for us". Suggested Amalie cautiously.
" That's true. We're not afraid to be feared, but we're not keen on people discovering about them and using us as pawns". Added Kol, his expression thoughtful.
Takemichi, the strategist of the group, responded," Caution is warranted. We can't afford to be reckless with our powers. That makes a significant difference".
Chifuyu grinned, his determination shining through," Yeah, I'm fired up ! Takemitchy, Kol, Amalie".
Kol chuckled," Now that's something I can get behind".
Chifuyu smiled at the siblings before turning to Takemichi," You're going to transform the first division into an unbeatable team, Takemitchy. Starting from scratch, but I believe you can make it happen !
We'll crush the Black Dragons, Kisaki – whoever stands in our way ! I've got your back until the very end ! That's my answer to you for laying it all out. Let's make this work !".
Amalie grinned," I'll have your back whenever you need it. You didn't hesitate to leap into the future to protect, and I won't hesitate now".
" You've got two genius witches by your side, blondie". Kol said with a smirk.
" Alright ! Let's do this ! Partner ! Kol ! Lie !". Takemichi declared joyfully as they exchanged handshakes.
Amalie smiled softly," Aw, that's the first time you've spoken to me informally".
