BEYOND RIVALRY
AUTHOR'S MESSAGE:
As a big fan of UAAP Men's Volleyball, I step into a new challenge to write a series about it. I watch UAAP games virtually, still dreaming to watch it live. For Season 86 Volleyball, let's support all teams.
But for now, I will pour my heart and support deeply to Growling Tigers, Green Archers, and Blue Eagles!

"I'm very proud of you babe!"
"Mag break na tayo Brix," I stated coldly, even had the guts to look directly on his face.
Nalukot ang mukha niya. Mapaklang tumawa, akala ay nagbibiro lang ako.
"Ayoko na Brix, napapagod na ako."
Nagsimulang magpanic ang mukha niya. Ang mga mata niyang kanina ay kumikinang ay unti-unting bumubuo ng luha. Ang mga magagandang ngiti sa labi niya ay napawi.
"Pagod? Pagod saan babe?" he reach for my elbow, full of confusion."Diba..
diba sabi mo kaya natin?"
Nagkibit balikat ako at pekeng natawa, tinatago ang sakit na nararamdaman. Kaya ba talaga namin? Araw-araw na nga kaming nahihirapan. Bawat laro...kinukutya kami. Nauudlot ang pag-usbong ng career niya nang dahil sa relasyon namin.
"Suko na ako Brix. Ayoko ng ilaban pa ang relasyon natin." pinigilan kong mabiyak ang boses."Marami sila eh...wala tayong laban. Tapusin na natin to."
The buckle of tears on the corner of his eyes flow down on his cheeks. Inabot niya ang katawan ko at niyakap ng mahigpit. Humahagulhol at sumisinghot siya sa balikat ko.
"Y-You..."hindi niya matapos tapos ang sasabihin."Y-You said...our love is g-greater than those h-homophobic people...you... you promise to s-stay.."
Inalis ko ang katawan mula sa pagkakayapos niya. Galit ko siyang tiningnan. Pilit parin na pinipigilan na bumuhos ang luha ko.
Tang ina, nasa Smart Araneta Collesium pa kami!
"Wala akong laban sa pamilya mo Brix. Itigil na natin to, tumigil na tayo.."
Hinubad ko ang bracelet na ginawa at niregalo niya mismo sakin noong birthday ko. Nanghihina niya akong tiningnan, ayaw matigil sa pag-iyak.
Inabot ko sakanya pero umiling iling lang siya. Nang naubos ang pasensya ay tinapon ko yun sa harap niya.
Akmang tatalikod na ay nagsalita siya.
"I'm sorry if you suffered fighting for our relationship. Lahat ginawa ko para hindi ka mapagod. Mahal na mahal kita e... tang ina naman. Hindi naman ako nagkulang Rein, ang dali mo akong sukuan."
Kinuyom ko ang kamao at taas noo siyang tiningnan.
He heaved a sigh, wiping his tears away. He slowly nodded at me... couldn't avoid my gaze.
"Congrats parin, my best player. Tsaka salamat...salamat sa lahat. Goodbye,"
I turned my back and walk as if nothing happened. Three years...tang ina, tatlong taon natapos ng ganon.
"I love you, Rein."
That was his last words before I found myself outside the Smart Araneta Collesium. Crying heavily... letting out the pain I've been controlling earlier.
I'm sorry Brix...
