Carson's P.O.V.

Being dismissed from Chief Strauss's office I just got my absolute dream placement. Not only is the BAU a highly regarded team within the Bureau, but it's also the team that both my sister and girlfriend are a part of. The only real problem is no one knows I'm JJ's sister and only Jay knows I'm dating Emily. I was a result of a night affair. My bio mother died in childbirth and with no next of kin a DNA test was done, and our father was contacted. Our mom decided to stay with him because of my sisters but made it very clear that since he had stepped out, he would take care of the child he had created. I was only a few years younger than Jen and she raised me like I was her own. She adopted me as hers as soon she could and made sure I was always treated the same as my sisters by Dad's family as well as her own.

Emily, I actually met at a book signing about eight months ago now. I had just moved here to Virginia following the end of my contract and honorable discharge from the Air Force. Lana Winters had been doing a signing for her second book and we had quite literally run into each other. Neither of us had been watching where we were going and ended up having a very awkward first kiss.

I was embarrassed, she was gorgeous, and so my dumb gay brain dumbly blurted out something about how she could have at least taken me to dinner first. Surprisingly she had laughed and agreed following that up with an invitation to dinner that night to make up for it. Since then, we've been on several dates, and around seven months ago she officially asked me to be her girlfriend. I only found out JJ knew her because I had gotten excited and she wanted to finally see a picture of the woman I had ditched her for one too many times. Her jaw had hit the floor so fast I'm surprised it didn't detach. Up until that point Em had only told her team she was with someone but hadn't told them anything about me.

We decided to wait to tell her about us being sisters until she was ready for me to meet them. Jennifer and I while we have similar facial features don't look all too alike if you're not really comparing us. I have brown hair, unlike both her and Ros who are natural blondes. I also have green eyes whereas theirs are blue. The biggest difference between us though is our last names. Even though they took me in and adopted me they never changed my last name from my mother's maiden last name.

On my way to Agent Hotchner's office, I hate that I'm about to accidentally ambush them both. Jen is the one who urged me to apply for the Bureau and so of course she's been understanding about the fact I can't tell her a whole lot about what was going on with that. I had told Emily I was applying to transfer into one of the agencies just never told her which. To be fair at the time I told her I was between the Bureau and the CIA which my sister blew a gasket about and made my choice for me.

Trying to pass my sister's door as quickly as possible I thankfully haven't seen my girlfriend yet. Thinking I've made it past the door suddenly gets ripped open from the inside. Out onto the landing steps my sister, my girlfriend, and the team's tech analyst Penelope. Stopping in my tracks I slowly turn on my heels awkwardly smiling. "Oh my God you must be our newbie!" She is exactly as perky as they've both described her to be. "Gosh, you are just the prettiest. The men are already in the conference room waiting let's go introduce you!" Looping her arm through mine I get whirled around and practically dragged across the landing.

Not bothering to knock the four of us enter the room in a burst. Presenting me like a new accessory the man at the end of the table stands up clearing his throat to take over the room. "You must be Agent Rayne Lennox you come highly recommended so it's a pleasure to have you with us." Moving around to shake his hand he introduces everyone one by one. Having to shake my sister and girlfriend's hand is the weirdest thing I've ever had to do. "I do hate to cut introductions short but there's a local case that's high priority." Passing each of us a file somehow I end up in the chair right between the blonde and raven-haired woman.
