'i've booked us the fanciest place i could find for tonight aswell' theo smiled at matilda's reaction to the copious amount of flowers, balloons and presents he had arranged around their room as she shook their in shock.
'oh my god theo i don't even know what to say' she turned to him and ran into his arms, squeezing him tight before bringing his face down to cover him in kisses
'thank you! thank you! thank you!' she repeated i between each kiss as he just laughed along
'you gonna open them then huh?' he chuckled out as she quickly jumps out of his arms and heads for the bed where the presents are neatly laid out.

'sour patch kids are my favourite!! how did you know!!' she squeals as she opens one of her final presents, theo sits next to her on the bed with a proud look covering his face.
'okay do this one next' he says as he places another present in front of her
'hmm okay' she says as she delicately unwraps the present, when she manages to open it an excited gasp leaves her mouth 'NO WAY!! THEO YOU DIDNT!!' she squeals
'oh but i did' he replied with a smirk before having matilda throw herself at him into a hug
'i always wanted a jellycat bunny' she sighs
'well you always point them out when we see one so i figured it'd make you happy' he chuckles
'you make me happy' she smiles back at him, returning to her place on the bed
'what are you gonna call them?' he questions
'hmm, i need to thing about it, i mean it's gotta be a really good name' she says as she begins to stare intently at the teddy in her hand, thinking of a name.

in the silence of her thinking and theo lovingly watching her, low whispers can be heard from outside the door.
'i think we should go in' said a voice
'no, c'mon man it's her birthday just give them a little more time' another said
'i'd love to give them all the time in the world but unfortunately we don't have time right now' the first voice spoke again, this time more harshly and it could be made out to be draco's voice; along side could be heard the mumbling and arguing of lorenzo and mattheo
by now theo's glance was fixed on the door, a disappointed and angry look plastered on his face, matilda just looked up at him with a sad look, she knew what was going on now.
'hey theo,' she said as she raised her hand against his check to turn his face to look at her 'it's gonna be alright, okay' she breathed out, but it sounded more like a scared question than an comforting statement.
theo met her gaze before finally speaking,
'get changed into full black and meet me by the front door in 10 minutes, okay cara mia?' he said, giving her a quick kiss and getting up from the bed
she nodded as she got up off the bed and began to pack a bag and find some appropriate clothes while theo left the room.
