NOVEMBER 1 1:46

My father backed away, taking one last look at Tyler and his friends bodies as if he was admiring his work. Then he turned around and made his way back through the pine woods up to Tyler's house, leaving me standing there in shock. I stared at their corpses, I don't know whether to feel disgusted and horrified, or happy. They've been bothering me and giving me hell all year at school, so in a way they kind of had it coming- but was this too far? I looked through the woods, and saw that he was almost back at the house, for such a large man he can move very quickly. I felt the panic rise inside of me, is he about to kill more people? Just the thought of him murdering anyone else, especially inside the house filled with teenagers was enough to get me moving quickly. I jogged up the hill through the woods, not looking back behind me, I could see his tall frame as he walked through the crowds of teenagers standing outside and back into the house. The bonfire was slowly starting to burn out now, there were now people sitting around it drinking and smoking weed. There were more people outside now, they were all laughing and drinking, and talking away, not aware of the killing that just happened at the lake. I followed my father back inside, I could feel the anxiety inside of me rising higher and higher the longer I'm here. Thankfully, it wasn't as crowded as it was inside like when I first got here. I was only a few inches behind my father, following him to see where he's going and what he's about to do next. As we walked through they all moved out of our way with ease, probably because of our heights.

Some only took a glance at us before going back to their dancing or drinking, others complimented our costumes- his "costume" to be exact. His dusty dark blue mechanical suit was now covered in Tyler and his friend's blood, it was on the mask too. It made me feel a bit sick knowing that it's real and it's not part of his costume. I was so deep in thought and still processing what had happened that I didn't even realize we were now walking outside. It was very quiet, none of Tyler's friends were standing at the door anymore welcoming people inside. The only thing that was outside were cars and red cups, littered all over the front yard. Man, Tyler's parents are probably gonna kick his ass when they get back from wherever they are and see this mess... But then my stomach dropped when I realized that they weren't gonna be mad at him, because he's already dead, and his death is gonna be a lot more important to them than this party. I bumped head first into something hard, it was my father's back, he stopped walking. We were now standing in front of my mother's pickup truck, she rarely uses it. Without hesitating I opened the passenger door and got in putting on my seatbelt. I want nothing more than to get the hell out of here, I've done enough and I've seen enough. My father slowly walked around the car, it was so quiet outside that I could hear his boots crunching into the gravel. He got inside slamming the door shut making me jump, I could feel his eyes burning a hole into the side of my face, and I could hear his heavy breathing through the creepy fucking mask. But I refused to look at him, I stared straight ahead at Tyler's big Cabin/Mansion.

The colorful lights inside his house were still bouncing off the walls and shinning through the windows. People were still inside dancing and drinking to the loud music, it was just like how it was when I first arrived. It made me shudder knowing that they weren't aware of the gruesome killing that just happened not too far away from the house. This is gonna be all over the news.. I thought to myself as the truck backed away from the house and turned around, now leaving Tyler's neighborhood. I turned around and watched as it slowly faded away, the sight of Tyler's corpse still burning in the back of my head.

The drive back to the house was quiet, and the only thing I could hear was the trucks engine running. Now that I'm sobered up, all I could think about is how my mother is about to act. I know she's gonna flip on me- I've really fucked up, and the most fucked up thing about this situation is that it probably would've never happened if I hadn't gone to the party to begin with. I could be at home right, now, sleeping peacefully in my bed.

It didn't take us long to reach the house, the streets were so quiet and dark, and not a single person was outside, the light were still on inside. I could see the outline of someone pacing around in the living room- it's definitely my mother, she's worried. I could feel the guilt rising higher and higher inside of me now, knowing that I've worried her a lot. I looked over at my father, he was staring right at me. He got out the car closing the door and trudged up the stairs of the house, thankfully the porch light was off so no one could see him. I took in a deep breath and let it out, then I got out the car and walked up the steps to my front door. I reached my hand out to the doorknob and hesitated to open, but I know I have no choice. I walked inside and closed the door behind me, I expected my mother to come bursting out of the living room running to me angrily and scolding and yelling at me, but there was nothing. I heard someone talking in the kitchen so I walked in there with my head hanging in shame. My mother was talking to herself as she took something out the oven, whatever it was smelled so good. She placed the dish on the counter taken her oven mittens off now admiring what she just cooked, she turned around and saw me standing there.

She did absolutely nothing, which made me even more scared, then she ran to me, pulling me into the tightest embrace I've ever been in. I could now hear her sobbing into my chest, and now I was crying. "Mom, I am so sorry for what I did." I sobbed now wiping my face. She pulled away, looking at me puzzled, "Honey, what are you sorry for? I'm the one who should be sorry, I never should have kept this from you." She said now wiping her eyes. "I should've just told you- but I didn't know how Janet. Please, forgive me." She told me, now on her knees in front of me. "Of course I forgive you mom, I understand why you didn't tell me." I said softly. She got back up now a relieved smile spreading across her face, it was contagious and made me smile. There's nothing that I want more than for my mother to be happy. "I know this all crazy, but I know you guys will bond and get along so well." She said in a very hushed voice. I raised an eyebrow at her, "How did you even meet him?" I asked.

She didn't answer, she just stared at me, then I realized she wasn't staring at me but staring at something behind me. I turned around and felt my heart skip a beat. My father was sitting at the breakfast nook. I could tell he's way too large for it, his feet was easily sticking out from under the table, and his arms were so long that they almost hung off the edge of the table. The light that hung above the breakfast nook wasn't on, so a large shadow cast over it covering him. But I could see his mouth and then I realized he wasn't wearing his mask. He didn't look like a mass killer right now, he looked almost normal. The shadow covered his mechanical suit so I couldn't see the bloodstains, he looked like an average joe, waiting for dinner to be served to him after a hard day of work.

But he wasn't an average joe, and it was now almost 3 in the morning. You were so busy staring at him, that you didn't even notice your mom had gone back to serving food. She walked right past you and put two plates of Shepard's pie on the table. "Why don't you sit and eat with your father Jan?" She asked me. The sight of that Shepard's pie- my all time favorite meal, made my mouth water. But my head was hurting so much, it was hurting from drinking so much and from all the thoughts that seemed to over flood in it right now- I need to go to bed. As if my mom read my mind she took my, plate and put in the microwave. "You must be worn out from all that partying, I'm glad you had fun, and nobody got hurt." She said now closing the fridge. I swallowed nervously, she doesn't know about what he did at the party. I opened my mouth to tell her but a yawn came out instead. She shooed me away with her spatula, "Go to sleep Janet." She said softly, I didn't argue back and walked out the kitchen to the stairs. But something in the living room caught my eye,

"Mom, why is Laurie here?"
