At first, things got a little out of hand in my new school. It's my first year in middle school, my older sister Haylee, who speaks no English at all, attends the same school as ME. I can't be a translator, that's for sure. For first period, I had English. For the people who speak fluent English already, has a clear understanding of everything, while I'm stuck here knowing how to read and write, but has an accent. People laughed at me when I tried to pronounce the word, "Community," but luckily, I later found out that the class was laughing at the jokes, told by someone named Calvin. This reminds me of the Calvin who followed me, and got into a fight with my dad, but he was a different Calvin. Before I knew that he was telling dad jokes trying to make people laugh, I thought I was a nobody.

Moving on to second period, I have math, I met a girl named Kennedi, which I think her named is spelt a little weird, because I'm used to "Kennedy." She turned out to be funny, but sometimes, she get frustrated, which is normal. For math, we just introduced ourselves, Ms.Escamila, our 9th grade math teacher says that she used to teach 5th grade, and she wanted to bring back elementary school memories, so we did a little "numbers about me" to get started with. I feel like Ms.Escamila is already going to be my number one favorite teacher in this school.

Third period begins, I HAVE ORCHESTRA!!! I took that viola straight out of my locker, I was PREPARED. We really just had to:

1. Introduce ourselves

2. Get yelled at by the teacher, Mrs.Amanda

3. Write a 10 page essay about how to read sheet music, EVEN THOUGH WE DIDN'T LEARN ANYTHING YET.

4. Get told that we'll never be good musicians.

5. Get slapped in the face if you stand up for yourself.

Ms.Amanda was THE WORST TEACH EVER!!! SHE YELLS AT US FOR NO REASON AT ALL OR MAYBE BECAUSE SHE "IS SO TIRED" WHEN ALL SHE DOES IS SIT THERE AND DO NOTHING! What are you even tired about? IT'S YOUR JOB. EVERYONE SUFFERS. CRY ME A RIVER, BUILD A BRIDGE AND GET OVER IT.

Although I love the viola and will never give up on it, I decided to join a petition for firing Ms.Amanda, my orchestra teacher.

PETITION TO FIRE MS.AMANDA:

                                         -Principal Jennifer, Danh

(our school website)

I was shocked about the principal's last name. It was the same as mine! BTW my middle name is Tran, but my last name is Danh. Interesting.

UPDATE: I know I'm not the principal's daughter, people just randomly assumed that, and are spreading rumors. Ok... back on topic, we sent an alert, and the following day, DURING the period where Ms.Amanda was "teaching" our class, an announcement came on and she was called to the office. SHE WAS FIRED RIGHT ON THE SPOT. (she got replaced with Mrs.Pack) Mrs.Pack was WAY nicer to us. I STILL CANNOT BELIEVE THAT MS.AMANDA GOT FIRED WITHIN THE SECOND DAY OF "TEACHING." Ms.Pack was actually able to teach us about music. She has high standards, but the way she enforces those standards, doesn't make a student cry. I went home, knowing how to sight read the alto clef, THE PROGRESS IS IN PEOPLE!

I had a couple more periods after orchestra. I didn't want to write about them because they're not as important as the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd classes. But if you're wondering what I have for the next 7 periods, I had Mandarin Chinese, (China invaded Vietnam more than 20 times, they should be lucky that even one Vietnamese person showed up to that class. 😭😭) Cantonese, (that is also Chinese btw) ELA, Art, Biology, Physics, and finally, chemistry.
