Overview 🦘My story will take you through my Army experiences including the dreadful inhumane mess that was the Vietnam War. Vietnam was mostly unknown to Australia before the war and whilst it is now a popular tourist destination, little is known about the war and our involvement in it. My involvement concluded with severe PTSD and a shocking journey into memory loss and a foray into the outback of Australia. Following the Vietnam disaster and my struggle with mental stress, my story will take you through my role as a recruit Instructor during national service years at the training battalion near Wagga NSW. Then a transfer to the Military Police which involved mainly training roles with the Corps and in a now forgotten loan of Australian Military Police to the British Army during the height of the troubles involving the Irish Republican Army and the Cold War security of what was West Germany whilst attached tithe British Army of the Rhine. My 20 years in the regular Army concluded as a Warrant Officer Class One. I followed on for 2 years as a training Warrant Officer in the Citizen Military Forces. Then it's onwards to read about my scary upbringing in the following 'Journey to war' story which relates my upbringing by a hateful mother culminating in an amazing journey to an extremely remote cattle station as a 12 year old. That experience presented a hard life, a huge learning curve and included a saga which now seems surreal, was this me or a movie I once saw. As is said, 'wait there's more' including the S.A public service, a dreadful shock to the system after I sneaked in as a training officer. As well, a period as a training consultant and ten years in mining management. Then life struck hard as you will understand if you decide to read on. So ! this is me, surviving Polio, being booted out of home and stranded in a lonely city far from home, later lost in the wilderness of the great outback, the trauma and legacy of personal loss.i

If Harry were to return to the age of eleven carrying with him the strength and composure forged through war, the wizarding world would no longer follow its former course. He returned with eyes that did not belong to a child, his heart clearly remembering every life that had fallen in exchange for peace. This time, Harry did not choose merely to survive; he chose to intervene and change the outcome, determined not to let sacrifice become the sole price of victory. From those quiet decisions, the book of magical history would perhaps be forced off its course, and the regrets of the past would no longer be repeated. Harry and his companions move toward the future, with more peaceful time to live their own lives. Youth is no longer wasted on endless pursuits or meaningless battles.

JIMMY IN VIETNAM Author: Tâm Thanh Cao What if the person you fall in love with was once your twin in a previous life? Jimmy in Vietnam is a hauntingly romantic and spiritual journey that blurs the line between destiny and desire. When Jimmy, a young man from Hong Kong, arrives in Vietnam, he expects a change of scenery. What he finds instead is a quiet unraveling of memory - fragments of a past life that refuse to remain buried. Drawn to a love that feels both intimate and forbidden, Jimmy begins to sense that this connection is older than time itself. In another lifetime, they were twin siblings. In this one, they meet again under different names, different circumstances - yet bound by something neither logic nor distance can erase. Vietnam is not merely a backdrop but a living presence in the story - warm, complex, layered with tradition and unspoken emotion. Through cultural contrasts, spiritual undertones, and deeply human vulnerability, Jimmy's search for love becomes a search for meaning. Beyond romance, the novel explores karma, reincarnation, and the invisible threads that tie souls together across lifetimes. It asks: Are we choosing love, or is love choosing us? This story contains mature (18+) themes. Love here is not idealized fantasy, but a powerful force shaped by instinct, memory, longing, and the fragile boundaries of morality. Ethereal yet grounded in emotional realism, Jimmy in Vietnam is a reflective tale about fate, forbidden tenderness, and the courage to follow a connection that transcends reason. Original work by Vietnamese author Tâm Thanh Cao. This English version is translated from the original Vietnamese manuscript for international readers.

A forgotten kingdom. A sacred vow. A journey home across centuries. Centuries ago, the fate of a young Vietnamese noblewoman became entwined with the rise and fall of the Champa kingdom. Her name was Thanh Mai-a girl of silken grace and iron spirit, whose heart beat with forbidden love and a fierce loyalty to truth. Her story was nearly lost... until one man dared to follow its echo. In modern-day California, Kien Quoc-a quiet Vietnamese-American engineer-receives his father's dying wish: return to Vietnam and uncover the roots of their family's past. His journey leads him into the heart of central Vietnam, where sacred towers sleep beneath moss and myth, and where the memory of Champa lingers in song, stone, and silence. Guided by dreams and joined by Sari, a Balinese journalist equally devoted to Southeast Asia's lost civilizations, Kien stumbles upon a revelation that challenges history, identity, and the very idea of nationhood. Along the way, they unearth a secret chamber beneath the holy valley of My Son-and within it, a truth that changes everything. Told in sweeping, poetic prose, Last Song of the Nation weaves together two timelines: the fall of Champa through the eyes of a young woman trapped between war and destiny, and a contemporary quest for heritage, love, and healing. At its core lies a question that haunts generations: What do we owe the past, and what can it still teach us today? This is a novel of memory and migration, of culture and compassion, of spirits that never die and songs that still carry across the wind.

Please note this story is a powerful revision of the popular story "A Scarred Life..." [Most Impressive Ranking#39 Vietnam out of 2.41K stories. The main purpose is to complete the entire story to better help those brothers and sisters in need.] ___________________ The war didn't end at the extraction point. For many, the real ambush was waiting at home. Coming back to the world was supposed to be the victory. But for those living in the shadow of PTSD, the silence that follows is more dangerous than any active combat zone. It's a silence that chokes out the truth, builds walls between loved ones, and whispers that you're the only one left on the battlefield. Denying the pain doesn't make it go away-it just makes the ambush more effective. In The Ambush of Silence, AW Schade cuts through the "I'm fine" mask that every survivor wears. This is an unfiltered look at the exhaustion of hyper-vigilance, the crushing weight of hidden memories, and the lie that says you have to stay quiet to stay strong. It is a voice for the veteran, the first responder, and anyone who has survived the unthinkable only to find themselves trapped in a war within their own mind. This is your field manual for breaking the silence: Face the Noise: Understanding why your body won't let the war go, even when your mind wants to. Stop the Bleed: Real talk on why isolation is a death sentence and how to find a perimeter that holds. The Way Out: Moving past the "survival mode" that is stealing your life and your relationships. This isn't about clinical theories. It's about the truth. Because the silence is a battle you've been fighting alone for too long, and it's a battle you were never meant to win by yourself.
