Author's Note:
This story has very short chapters! Most chapters are 400-500 words long. The story is just over 30k words with 45 chapters, averaging 667 words per chapter! Yikes:) Anyway, the reason for this is how and why I began writing this story. I was on a six-year writing hiatus. When I started this story, it was the first thing I had written in six years, and I began the story by posting each chapter on Facebook, just for fun, in short portions because I figured people wouldn't read it if it was a long post. So, I went with the short chapters and couldn't seem to make them longer when I started posting on Wattpad and eventually putting it on Amazon. The sequel, Gold Canyon, is about 37k words long with 39 chapters, so those chapters average almost 1k words per chapter. So, book 2 has longer chapters but not by much. I guess shorter chapters and stories are easier to write, edit, and good for you, much easier to read:) Hope you enjoy the quick-hitting thrill ride! Book 2 will begin updates as soon book 1 is completed.
