The morning light hit the girls face as she stirred up from her sleep. She missed this. The rays hitting her eyes, blinding it in ways she just wished before; Turning her body to the side as she reached for her alarm clock, tapping it off before bringing her body up, sitting. Ugh, it's just 6:30 a.m. she groaned in annoyance, thinking maybe she should asked Jaehyun for a day-off from their training. Now she still wasn't allowed to physically train, besides a regular jogging and cardio as per Dr. Soo. So Jaehyun taught her about the business side of the Mafia, how they run it, how they detect their enemies, who are they and what family they belong to, almost anything she missed for the past years.
Jaehyun was skeptical about whether or not she'll agree to be part of all these again, but he cannot bare to see his sister so down, hopelessly waiting for a certain man he knew wouldn't come back. at least not for now. So he tried to persuade her, at least this would somehow take him off of her mind.
But he was wrong.
Dangling her feet from the edge of her bed, looking straight at her reflection on the mirror in front of her, wondering where it all started to get wrong...wondering if this was the price she had to pay for gaining her sight back.
Looking at her side, grabbing her phone as she stared at the device's screen. Hoping, almost praying that a miracle would happen and that she'll suddenly see his name pop up in her messages, or even better, call her, hear his voice call out her name again, tell her that he wast just busy and had just came back from whatever things he needed to do, from whatever place he needed to be, to tell her that he missed her, just as much as she did and that he's going crazy every minute without her, that he's sorry for leaving her and not telling her, for not waiting for her, that finally he'll come back to her. She once again hovered her fingers on the screen, itching to type his number, again. but unlike any other days that she did, she finally prevented herself from doing so...It's a Monday, Iris. Let's not start with this again...I can't find a man who doesn't even wanna be found.
Finally deciding for the first time in a month to not try and call him or leave any voice messages, Iris let her phone be as she left it on her messy bed.

"Jaehyun! I can smell the pancakes from outside, ugh, I'm so dang hungry. Remind me to not jog with an empty stom -"
Her rumbling was cut off when she was met with a pair of eyes that definitely does not belong to her brother.
"Good morning." His voice resonated, she could not deny she's kinda getting used to his presence day-by-day. "I made you breakfast. Jaehyun hyung said he and Taeyong needed to attend an important meeting, so...at your service M' lady." and she also kinda like to admit how entertaining it is to have him around.
"Isn't it too early for your "m' lady" old century thingy, Jen?" she chuckled. finding it funny how he always addressed her like that. Making her way to the fridge beside the countertop where the boy was cooking, before opening it grabbing an ice cold water.
"What? I like calling you that." he said. Placing two plates on the table as he served his freshly made pancakes.
Sitting in front of each other, the two engaged themselves in a conversation. Still not believing how close they instantly got. For starters, Iris never really thought that she'd consider Jeno as her best friend. Well she only knew him as Nana's best friend in the beginning, but the bond the two shared and how the boy witnessed every single breakdown she had for the past weeks, how emotionaly supportive he is, and how he never left her, made her reconsider otherwise.
