I just learned that we can't truly unlove somebody. Once we've poured out our love for a certain person, there will always be a part of them that stays with us forever. These pieces of them become scars, and they continue to hurt over time because when they leave, they also take a piece of us with them. Sometimes their departure still haunts us, and sometimes there's still a throbbing pain even when we claim we've moved forward. I don't know about you, but maybe we don't love the same way, and you might not agree with me, as there's no one-size-fits-all answer to how we process our emotions. I can say good for you, but I wish it were the same with me and my Chicago.

A/N: This prose can also be read in Chapter 6 of "Au Revoir," which I published on my first and main account, Isabella Willard (@periwillard), because this is literally Stella's POV.
