Chapter 1

"If I may speak freely, you want me to accompany you to Fontaine?" I asked

"Yep, we're hoping to leave as soon as possible too" the floating fairy replied

"Do you know what you are asking of me" I say with a tight lip smile

"Y/n, it'll be good for you" Rex says walking up the path to my home

"Rex, you know why I'm here. I don't know if I can handle going to Fontaine" I admit with a sigh

"Y/n, you've been playing your erhu every night for 2,000 years. I think it's time you go to Fontaine" he says with a sad look in his eyes

The traveler and floating fairy leave us for a bit, giving us some privacy

"Rex, it's been a long time since the archon war. I got separated from him. What if he's not even alive? I can't go to Fontaine if he's not there" I explain, tearing up a bit

"Y/n, if I may. I believe he is still alive and he's probably missing you just as much. If I'm wrong, then you can tell me to do anything you want" Rex tries to negotiate

"You know I would never make you do anything" I mumble

I stand up from where I was previously sitting and pack my erhu and some clothes before saying my goodbyes to Rex. He gave my a warm smile and a hug telling me that if anything bad happens to come back to chenyu vale.

I nod and make my way down to the infamous duo. After our brief introductions, we start heading to Fontaine. I wasn't fond of the idea of going through the desert to get there, so I used my raft infused with magic to get there. I start paddling up until the waterfall, looking up knowing Fontaine is right on the other side. I take my erhu out and start playing, making our raft float to the top with ease.

"Wow, I never knew you could do that!" Paimon smiles

"There's a lot of things I can do Paimon, but I never had a reason to use my powers" I explain with a smile similar to hers

As we continue onward, I couldn't help but notice buildings. Huge buildings. I've seen Fontaine being built shortly after the archon war, but it was truly magnificent up close. I stop my raft at the docs, letting the traveler and Paimon get off first before getting off myself. There was a girl standing near the waters edge, zoning out. The traveler and Paimon go over to speak with her, but I stayed near the lift. A little bit has passed and the duo comes over with two new people.

"Y/n! This is Lyney and Lynette! We just met them!" Paimon exclaims

"Y/n? As in the goddess y/n?" Lyney questions excitedly

"Yes, haha. How do you know about me?" I ask a little confused

"Our father used to read stories about you to us. In fact, there are books about you in the Fontaine library" Lynette explained

All of a sudden, we hear a bunch of footsteps coming from soldiers. And then she pops up. Furina, my old friend. She looked over at the duo and then me, freezing for a second

"Hello, old friend" I say with a nervous smile

She doesn't say anything as she walks down the stairs and walks toward us. Her guards are closely behind her, ensuring her safety especially the woman with purple hair. She blinks a few times before hugging me tightly, although she feels different. I don't think about it much, happy to see an old friend again.

We start having a conversation before she announces she'll be off to attend some things. I wave goodbye and turn my attention back to the four.

"We have a magic show tonight, we'd love if you guys could attend" Lyney says with a bright smile

"Sure!" Paimon agrees for us

We get on a trolley with another friend of theirs. I tune out their conversation and look at the scenery. I took out my erhu, playing a song I would always play to him. As I continued to play, the five of them stop their conversation and just listen to my music. Everyone took a seat and closed their eyes, drifting off to a pleasant sleep. After I finish playing, I noticed all of them asleep and i slap my forehead

"How could I forget this song makes people sleep" I mutter to myself

Even the trolley employee was sleeping. I giggled a little, letting them sleep until we got to the court of Fontaine. As it comes in sight, I start waking everyone up one by one. As we got to the dock, everyone was awake and stretching. We got off and Lyney and Lynette were going to show the duo around as I head off by myself to find an inn to stay at. Once I found one, I paid for two rooms and take the keys before going to my room.

As I settled in the room, I changed into a golden hanfu and changed all of my hair accessories to match. After I finished getting ready, I take both keys with me as I head out to meet back up with the traveler and Paimon. We met up at the fountain of lucine, right in front of the opera house. Lynette was telling the traveler about the hydro element before our attention was brought back to Lyney who appeared and wanted us to go inside to take our seats first.

We head inside, only to see someone already there. Not thinking much of it, we take our seats next to the man and I close my eyes waiting for everything to start.
