I felt my heart race as he stared at me. His eyes were always so full of emotion that it was sometimes hard to tell which one he was feeling. I opened my mouth to say something but I couldn't. I then looked up to see him slightly amused by my actions.
"Are you okay?" He asked with a smile on his face.
It was as if I got hit by a sense of deja vu and was instantly reminded of when we first met. I could remember that day as if it was yesterday. It had become one of my favorite days. It was In my favorite coffee shop in the Upper East Side of New York.

The smell of coffee and freshly baked pastries entered my nose. I sighed in contentment my shoulders relaxing as I was finally at peace after the past few hectic weeks I've had. I walked to the counter ready to place my order.
"Hello, welcome to Birch Coffee, what can I get started for you?" The cashier asked me.
"Hi, can I get a Lavender Oat-milk Latte and a Chocolate Croissant?" I asked reaching for my wallet in my tote bag.
"Of course you can, here or to go?" She said ringing up my total.
"Here," I said.
"Okay, that will be $5.35. Can I get a name for that?" She opened the cash register.
"Delaney," I said handing her the cash.
"Alright, we'll call you when it's ready." She said walking back to fix my order.
I moved to the other side of the counter as I waited. My peace was ruined once I heard my phone ring. Sighing in annoyance I pulled it out of the back pocket of my denim skirt and looked at the caller ID. TinMan. I rolled my eyes before answering.
"Yes?" I answered annoyed.
"Where are you?" He rushed out.
"Out," I said looking around.
"I know that but where?" He said out of breath.
"That's gonna have to be a no," I said not wanting him to know where I was.
"But," Tony started.
"But nothing, is there an emergency?" I questioned.
I was met with silence.
"Is someone dying?" I asked again.
More silence.
"Is the city in danger? Are my siblings in trouble? Is there an actual problem?" I asked once again only to be met with even more silence.
