Mourning of a Friend

A chance, a coincidence,
I happened upon you.
Fate paired us together,
Just us two.

I thought you wonderful,
Unique, weird...
Oversharing,
Opening like a closed bud in spring ...

A bond formed,
Happiness granted a new meaning,
Love a pure figure.
Inseparable, unified.... my soul-friend.

A pillar, a life-buoy,
Black to my white,
You the flame,
My heart you tame.

Life's weight tried us.
Friendship, dangling from a thread,
Unraveled by jealousy, spite, dread.
Years passed.

Memories not forgotten,
nor you....
My friend, my soulmate...
You... I could never hate.

Paths eventually forked,
Separation and despair.
Your company missed,
Memories caught in the wind of the past.

A/n: to everyone who lost a friend and with that a part of their soul....
