"you could, if you wished to show your loyalty, but what is your goal here" rei asked, ritsuko and misato looked at each other
"restarting to the fallen vanguard" misato said
"ah, you like that do you shinji's vision of redeeming of NERV, and making it into what it was supposed to be, the organization that defends hope, how far are you willing to go though, are you willing to go as far as the original NERV did to complete your mission" rei said
"if it means protecting people, and only protecting people then yes, i was apart of NERV to begin with after all" misato said, ritsuko nodded her agreement rei laughed
"neither of you were part of NERV to help people, akagi was part of NERV because she was gendo ikari's lover, and you katsuragi were part of NERV, because or you vendetta against the angels nothing more, you will not be allowed that, you both will need to be committed to both the commander and the mission, swearing an oath would be step one, but should you start questioning the commander, everyone will turn on you" rei said, she was staring directly at misato
"are we clear on this" rei asked, misato quickly realized, that rei was talking to her specifically
"we're clear" misato said
"good, now we will talk about the oaths, do you wish to have a professional relationship with the commander, or do you wish it to be more personal like with his servants" rei asked
"what do you mean" misato asked
"if you swear an identical oath to the one peerage members must swear, then i expect you to hold up to that oath, meaning you will belong to him, your lives are his, your bodied are his, should he wish for you to go on a suicide mission you'll do your best to complete that mission even at the cost of your life, should he wish to punish you for anything really, you will allow him to do so, should he wish to bed him, you will participate" rei said
"he's allowed to do that to his servants" asuka asked outraged
"he's encouraged to do that, yes, that is how he treats me, it took me many years to get him to treat me as such" rei said
"your the reason he treats his servants like that" misato said
"he has no servants remember, i am a subordinate with extra benefits nothing more, unfortunately, especially not after the dissolution of the fallen vanguard, but should he ever recruit, i am part of the cause, keep in mind however he is a much different person now, he acts like the shinji ikari you remember only because he forces himself to do so" rei said
"would he open up if we swore these oaths" misato asked
"if you specifically took the knee katsuragi and encouraged him to take what has been offered to him then yes, you lead WILLE it is you that he worries over most, akagi isn't really a threat to him, she is a scientist not a military commander, that being said he would not say no to having Dr. akagi in his service he may even resurrect project N" rei said, the two nodded
"project N" misato asked
"neo evangelion" rei said, their eyes bulged
"that's a thing" ritsuko asked
"technically it is only a thought in his mind, does he have plans for project N, yes most definitely, provisional evangelion neo unit-01, is a thing he started to plan for keyword being started" rei said
"let me guess he dropped the project in fear of us" ritsuko said, rei nodded
"correct, having you bring the project up and encourage to continue would definitely see him continue the project, the Mk-2 and neo unit-01 projects are very high on his roster as it would explicably change certain things" rei said
"we have a lot to think about" misato said
"i should inform you, that should the commander choose it is exceedingly easy for him to disappear, there are many, many people who would more then happily hide him away, and you will find no one willing to help you hunt him down should he choose that project, also project S exists" rei said
"what is project S" misato asked
"i don't know, all i do know is that it is one of the commander's biggest contingency plans, no one but him knows of it and it is one of the few projects not dealing with the evangelions and so by extension not immediately dropped as a result" rei said
