You ask me how she's doing but
you don't ask me how I'm doing
Has she taken her meds?
Ask me if I've -
Yes, she has

You treat me like I'm older
Like I'm the one in charge
Like it's my job to see that she gets better

I sit here crying
The veins popping in my head
Because god forbid if you hear me cry
Every sob is a gasp for air
Because these thin walls will shatter if they hear my true cries
If you hear my cries

Ask me how old I am
Then say I am mature for my age
Why?
Because you've made me so.
