Tsukishima couldn't get Y/N off of his mind. She is his classmate and a dear friend of Yamaguchi. That was how she started hanging out with them. He couldn't understand this at all. What was so special about Y/N that he couldn't stop thinking about her? Why couldn't he get her off of his mind? He had too much to focus on between volleyball and college, he didn't have time for this.
Sure, Tsukki found Y/N attractive. Even he could admit that, just never to anyone else. She is charming and enjoyable to be around. Tsukki particularly enjoys messing with her. The blush that covers her face every time he teases her is worth it. Tsukishima doesn't give her special treatment though. He is kinder to her than he is to everyone else. But he treats her no differently than he treats Yamaguchi. Right?
Tsukishima was walking to class with Yamaguchi when he saw Y/N. She was leaning against the wall giggling at something some guy had said. Her back was facing Tsukki and Yamaguchi, but they could see that she was playing with her hair. Something she does when she is flustered.
The guy she was talking to had his arm resting against the wall. He was leaning over Y/N, talking to her with a charming smile. He was admittedly attractive. And from what Y/N had told them, the guy was her type. It was no wonder that Y/N wasn't telling him to get lost.
Y/N was flirting. Or at least that was what Tsukishima concluded. A deep pit formed in his stomach and a feeling of unease settled over him. He didn't like it. He wasn't sure why, but he didn't like it. He had the urge to breakup whatever it was that he was witnessing. To put space between Y/N and that guy. Tsukishima grit his teeth.
Yamaguchi looked between Y/N and Tsukki. He could tell that Tsukishima was bothered by what was going on in front of them. Tsukki didn't even bother to hide it. Yamaguchi knew Tsukki wasn't very good at identifying his feelings. But to Yamaguchi, it was obvious that Tsukki viewed Y/N differently than everyone else. It was obvious to him that Tsukishima liked her.
Yamaguchi opened his mouth to say something. He was prepared to redirect Tsukki's attention and pull him into the classroom to leave whatever was happening between Y/N and that guy behind. But before he could, Tsukishima was no longer by Yamaguchi's side. No, Tsukishima was now lingering behind Y/N.
Tsukishima's arm slipped around Y/N's waist. He pulled her back against his body. Tsukishima's glare was menacing as he stared down the guy that had been talking to Y/N. His eyes were burning with a jealously that was foreign to him. He was acting without thinking. Tsukki hadn't even processed what he was doing.
Tsukishima held eye contact with the guy, glaring him down. The guy stood there in shock, meeting Tsukishima's harsh gaze. Tsukki opened his mouth to speak but no sound came out. Instead, Tsukki silently mouthed one word. Mine. The guy's eyes widened as he got the message loud and clear.
The guy who had been speaking to Y/N backed up with a nervous laugh. "Anyways L/N, I should get going." He pointed over his shoulder with his thumb, clearly uncomfortable. He got out of there as fast as he could.
Y/N had recognized Tsukki's jacket sleeve when he wrapped his arm around her, but she wasn't sure why he had done it, or why he was still holding her against his chest. "Uh, Tsukki?" She attempted to look up at him but was unable to turn around.
Y/N's voice seemed to snap Tsukishima out of his trance. He immediately released Y/N from his grasp and stepped away from her. Now that she was able to, Y/N turned to face him. She was confused and it was written all over her face. Tsukki looked incredibly irritated with his eyebrows furrowed.
"What was that about?" Y/N asked. "Not that you aren't allowed to touch me, but that was weird. You completely caught me off guard. You've never been the affectionate type, Tsukki." Tsukishima knew that Y/N was right. It was out of character for him. What was he doing? What had come over him?
Instead of facing these questions, Tsukki tsked and turned away. The tall blond began to walk in the opposite direction without a word. "Tsukki," Yamaguchi and Y/N called out. "What about class?" Tsukishima didn't respond. He just kept walking.
Yamaguchi and Y/N looked at each other, silently coming to an agreement. Y/N would follow after him. And she did just that. Y/N followed him, calling out for Tsukki to stop and talk to her as they went. "Tsukki," Y/N called out when she finally caught up to him. Her hand softly wrapped around Tsukishima's wrist.
They were in an empty hallway. All of the lingering students had all made their way into their classrooms and class had begun. Tsukki turned around with a harsh glare when Y/N grabbed him. His headphones were hanging from his neck and his glasses were sitting comfortably on his nose. He looked like the Tsukki she knew, but that glare reminded her of when they first met. No, it was worse than the looks he used to give her. Tsukishima was angry.
Y/N wasn't sure what happened. One second she was holding onto Tsukki's wrist as he glared down at her. But in the blink of an eye, Y/N found herself being pinned to the wall, caged in by Tsukishima's body. He was still glaring down at her with the same intensity. "Tsukki?"
"What the hell were you doing flirting with that guy?" He asked harshly. His voice was angry and accusatory. It was nothing like the teasing voice that she had grown used to. It was like Tsukishima was a different person. He hadn't used that tone since high school. And he certainly had never used that tone with Y/N before.
Y/N stared up at him in shock. "I-I wasn't flirting!"
Tsukishima narrowed his eyes. "Sure, giggling and playing with your hair isn't flirting." Tsukki didn't move. He kept Y/N caged between the wall and himself. His voice held the same accusatory tone. Tsukki wasn't sure what he was doing, he was acting impulsively.
"Why do you care what I was doing anyways?!" Y/N snapped back, pushing on his chest with no effect. Why did he care? And why couldn't he get her out of his head? These questions plagued Tsukki's mind but his anger never let up. Before Tsukishima could process any of it, his eyes found Y/N's lips. He was suddenly overcome with the desire to kiss her. Just like he was overcome with the desire to mark his territory earlier. His territory? Where did that come from?
Tsukishima didn't consider these questions long before he gave into the urge. He crashed his lips down on Y/N's. Y/N's eyes widened at the sudden kiss. She finally realized what was going on. Tsukishima was jealous.
Y/N couldn't help but smile against Tsukishima's lips. Tsukishima has feelings for her. What other explanation could there be? Y/N closed her eyes and returned the kiss. It was like a dream come true. Y/N had liked Tsukki since they first met. But she buried her feelings in order to maintain their friendship. She wouldn't have to anymore though. Because it was clear that Tsukki liked her back.
