Seraphina had always been careful when sneaking off to the planet below.

The others would chastise her, claiming that she never listened or followed any of the rules placed for them to follow. Angels in Celestia were meant to be the balance, the keepers of lore, and the ones to maintain the knowledge between good and evil. They were guardians, only to be heard, but never seen.

Which is why Serpahina used to escape down to the surface world to roam with the dragons.

The creatures had appeared one day, vicious giants of reptilian origin. They roared, flew, clawed, and bit with the tenacity of a beast. Seraphina would watch from the clouds as they established rank and order between clans, separating themselves and having heads. One that caught her eye the most was the king himself Nibelung.

The dragon king was a curious creature, always trying to learn and teach all his knowledge to his fellow beasts. Seraphina would chuckle when he found a new tome that would fall "accidentally" from the library or see a new piece of scripture from the heavenly beings. One day, she mustered up her courage and descended to finally meet the king.

It was a funny encounter. Then again, she probably should've appeared in the daytime rather than night.

The dragon, for as large as was, nearly leapt out his skin when he saw a tiny winged woman appear on his snout. He nearly woke up his attendants, but she used her ability to sound proof the room.

"Hello!" She chirped happily. "My name is Seraphina, and I'm an angel. I'm also the one who's been sneaking you our language and books....so you're welcome!"

The king reared his head before becoming more curious at her. "Thou art one of the angels from the books I've read? I expected thou to be more....weird looking."

"Weird!?" She placed a hand on her chest in mock surprise. "What did you expect? A bunch of wings and eyeballs staring at you?"

This made the dragon chuckle as she pouted. "Well, thou apologizes if thy words have offended thee."

Seraphina gave him a grin. "Apology accepted! I am not one to be so easily offended by mistakes. I was just...curious about dragons that's all."

The large lizard shifted, allowing himself to be a tad more comfortable to speak with his newfound guest. Seraphina fluttered a bit, finding herself in on his head as she snuggled into the scales. They were warm, smooth to the touch. Her eyes closed in the calmness of the moment. The fear of being found out evaporating in an instant.

"Your highness," She speaks with an airy tone. "We must never speak of this encounter or many other that could result from me telling you all this information."

"And why, pray tell, would thou want our rendezvous to be kept internally?"

"Although angels hide their negative emotions very well, they too are beings that get jealous. I fear the worse may occur if they should ever know I made contact with you."

There was an unspoken agreement between the two as Seraphina began to reveal her secrets to him.

There was nothing more unsettling than the fear of losing control.

You could have everything planned, every little detail meticulously laid out for all to see. A small bump or crack is nothing as long as you kept a cool head and thought quickly on your feet.

Life was, in a way, like a game.

Raphael knew his purpose in life was to maintain the balance and lead the angels towards enlightenment. Angels, by nature, were created for Celestial to uphold truths, be guardians, and keep track of mortals. They preserved history within the scrolls, handed out the powers to the mortals, and didn't speak with archons for they were sinful beings.
