A Second Chance For Us

Tony shot the bullet right over his heart, he could not be saved. His death & his actual business behind the cover of Orphanage made everyone in the country spellbound.
He had no family to come & visit him, the person who handled his funeral and all was Kenta. However, Kenta was subsequently taken to jail due to his involvement in Tony's illegal activities.

Everything was proceeding well. Those who were involved in doing business with Tony were also taken to court. All the Alpha children were rescued. From among them those who had family were sent back to them. And those who had nobody were sent to orphanages for adoption.

For about one and a half months the issue was hot. Until everything finally died down. Time went by and people forgot about Tony. They started to move on with their everyday life.

X-Hunter team went back to the race track. Kim joined them as a new racer. North & Sonic finally got a new camera for vlogging. Dean got to race as a rising star. Jeff moved in with Alan and made their relationship official. Charlie proposed to Babe, they became the power couple in the Thai racing industry. Pete tried to bail Kenta out of prison but the Beta rejected it. He wanted to suffer for his deeds. Winner was still locked in jail, his racing career was gone forever. Way has purchased a new house, he is now living for himself. And Pete was back to his usual life. He got some of Tony's property under himself as well, leaving no more competitors before him anymore.

Even though everything was better this time, Pete's mind could not rest at all. He is always scared that Tony will come back into their life. It's not rare for him to get nightmares often. But, there is someone beside him who is offering him comfort. Pete doesn't know what the title of their strange relationship is yet. Honestly, he doesn't want Way to force himself to like Pete back. He can endure Way's rejection as long as the latter is alive and happy with someone he loves. The friendship between Way & Babe is now much better, Way seems to accept Charlie as his friend's boyfriend. Pete is confirmed because he has used his power on Way, that was the last time he did though. After that, he never used it on Way.

After about six months, the whole X-hunter team went on a trip to the Beach. And Way insisted Pete to join them. Well everyone asked Pete but Way kind of dragged Pete out of his busy life to enjoy a vacation with them.

It was nighttime and Pete was at the beach, alone. Wondering into his thoughts.

"Pete?"

The sound of Way's voice broke through his reverie, and he turned to see the familiar figure approaching him.

"You haven't slept yet?" Pete asked with a warm smile.

Way returned the smile, his eyes reflecting a mix of emotions. "I couldn't sleep. Can we chat?" he pleas, his tone hesitant. Pete gestured for him to take a seat beside him on the sand, inviting him to share whatever was on his mind.

As they settled onto the soft sand, Way's gaze fixed on the horizon, "Thank you for coming with us. And sorry for nagging you that much." Way smiled embarrassed.

Pete smiled warmly at Way's words, feeling a rush of gratitude for the Enigma's presence beside him. "No need to apologize, Way. I'm glad I came," he replied sincerely. "Being here with you all means a lot to me. And truth be told, I was worn out with all those works."

Way watched the CEO for a moment in silence. Then he took a deep breath, "Pete, I've been thinking a lot lately," he began, his voice soft but resolute. "About us, about our friendship, about everything." Pete listened intently, curious to hear what was on Way's mind. It will be a lie if he says his heart isn't beating like crazy now.

"And I realized something," Way continued, his eyes meeting Pete's with unwavering sincerity. "I've come to care about you more than I ever imagined. You've become such an important part of my life, Pete. You came out of nowhere and rescued me from hell. You made me live for myself. Not only me, you helped all of us and those children. Without you, I don't know where would be I today or what would have Tony done. After everything, I– I have found myself in a very much puzzled situation, Pete. I feel like, I don't want to imagine a world without you in it... Is it possible, Pete?"

Pete's heart swelled with emotion as he listened to Way. He reached out and gently took Way's hand in his own, his eyes shining with sincerity. "I am glad that I was able to help you. It's more than enough for me to see you happy." Pete gently strokes his thumb on Way's hand, "Way, You have no idea how much those words mean to me," he said, his voice filled with warmth. "You've become such an important part of my life. You're not just a friend, you're... something more. And if you feel the same way, then yes, it's possible, Way. It's more than possible."

The gleam on Way's face showed his happiness, and he held Pete's hand tightly. "Promise me you'll stay with me forever," he pleaded softly.

"I promise," Pete replied, his voice filled with determination. He placed his forehead against Way's, feeling their closeness. "I wouldn't dream of leaving you. Way, I want you more than you can even imagine." His words were whispered with sincerity, conveying the depth of his feelings.

Way's heart raced as he looked into Pete's eyes, feeling a surge of affection. "I want you too, Pete," he admitted shyly, his cheeks flushing with emotion.

Pete smiled tenderly, his thumb brushing against Way's cheek. "I'm the luckiest man alive to have you," he murmured

Their eye contact lasted for a while when Way was leaning in closer. Slowly breaking the distance, Pete gently placed his lips on Way's. There was all love, devotion, care, respect, longing, oath, and life lingering in that gentle kiss. Pete had tears in the corner of his eyes, he had managed to make Way love him back this time. Sometimes a second chance is needed to make the ending better...
