I'm not afraid of the dark. At least not anymore. I pull up my cloak. People say that there are monsters hiding in the dark. I haven't found any, yet. I pull up my shoes. I had, however, found a monster in the daylight. I remember it so bluntly. I'll never forget it.
It wasn't like a normal monster. She was beautiful. Wrapped in gold and red. She deceived me completely. It was crimson red that day. The sun was setting, and we fought. I wince as I walk to the door. We fought long over hours. I feel around for the doorknob. I just decide to kick the door open.
"Thank you for staying with us sir, and might I had, you have such a lovely mask." The Innkeeper says.
I place my hand on it. Cold and smooth despite the imprints on it. It was not my choice to where a mask. My face scared permanently. My world wrapped in darkness. I never wanted to shield my face, but my options became limited. I pay the Innkeeper.
"Good day sir." She says.
I wish it were. I wish I could see the sun and the sky, but I can't. My eyes were taken from me.
