We were rowing down a river in the Telmarine boat. Trumpkin who was the dwarf was in the front next came Susan and Lucy than Peter who was rowing and in the back was Edmund and I.

"There so still." Lucy said looking at the trees

"Their trees what do you expect." Trumpkin said to Lucy

"They used to dance" Lucy told him

"Wasn't long after you left that the Telmarines invaded, those who survived retreated to the woods the trees, the retreated so deep into themselves and they haven't been heard from since." Trumpkin told us bitterly

"I don't understand how could Aslan let this happen?" Lucy asked

"Aslan? Thought he abandoned us when you lot did." Trumpkin said

I looked around at all of the trees and imagined them dancing like they would have in the golden age.

"We didn't mean to leave you know" Peter said clearly tired of Trumpkin saying that they abandoned them all.

"Makes no difference now does it?" Trumpkin said

"Get us to the Narnians and it will" Peter told him

We continued down the river until we came upon shore. I was helping Peter, Edmund and Susan pull the boat into land.

"Hello there!" I heard the voice of Lucy say cheerfully

I looked over and saw that she was talking to a big black bear.

"It's alright we're friends" Lucy said kindly to the bear

I didn't like the looks of this so I quietly pulled my bow from my back and grabbed an arrow from my quiver.

"Don't move your majesty!" Trumpkin told Lucy

Suddenly the best began to charge at Lucy. Lucy started to run towards us. I knocked an arrow about the same time as Susan and pointed it at the bear.

"Stay away from her!" Susan firmly told the bear with a slight bit of panic in her voice

Lucy tripped and fell the bear getting closer to her.

"SHOOT SUSAN, AMBER SOMEBODY SHOOT." Edmund desperately called out to us

Suddenly I let the arrow fly and it hit the bear right in the heart. There was another arrow in the bear I assumed it was Susan's but she still had her arrow loaded on her bow. I looked behind me and saw Trumpkin who had fired the second arrow.

"Why wouldn't he stop?" Susan asked with confusion in her voice

"I suspect he was hungry" Trumpkin answered

I loaded my bow back on to my back and ran over to Lucy with Ed and Pete.

"Thanks" Lucy said in a small voice as she clung to Peter from the side

Trumpkin just looked at Lucy

"It was wild I don't think he could talk at all." Peter said

"Get treated like a dumb animal long enough that's what you become" Trumpkin said

"You may find Narnia a more savage place than you remember." Trumpkin said as he pulled out his dagger

He then stabbed the bear causing Lucy to cry into peter's chest. I turned away an thought about how I didn't think I just shot that arrow into the bear. I felt disgusted with myself.
