Chapter 8

I woke up early and tried to get up but couldn't. I than realized why I couldn't get up. Caspian had his arms around me gripping me tight. I tried to sneak out of his embrace without waking him but I was unsuccessful I heard a groan from beside me.

"Sorry I was trying not to wake you" I apologized to the prince

"No it's ok I needed to get up."

"Um...Caspian?"

"Yeah"

"Are you going to let me go?" I asked playfully

"Oh sorry" he said as his cheeks turned a light pink

I giggled at him. I stood up and walked around trying to wake up.

"If you need something to wear you could borrow something from me." One of the female centaurs told me

"That would be great thank you."

She led me over to where I assumed she was staying and began to talk to me

"So I see you and the prince are getting to know each other." She said with humor lacing her voice

I blushed for the thousandth time in 1 day and replied with

"We are getting to know each other yes he is a great friend." I said trying to avoid the subject I knew she was hinting at

"Sure" she said with a laugh "Give it 3 days an you'll realize you're madly in love with him" she said jokingly but I don't think she was joking.

I laughed slightly as she handed me a dress.

"I can tell he's very fond of you she said" I smiled at her and said "well I am very fond of him as well"

I mentally slapped myself. Did I really just say that. I mean yes he was kind and not to mention very very attractive but did I love him? I had no idea so I thanked her for the clothes and went to go change.

When I came back I heard the clash of swords I ran forwards with my sword drawn and stopped when I saw who it was. Peter! But who was fighting him? Caspian. Of course. I did the most stupid thing I have ever done in my life and jumped right between the two and screamed

"STOP IT!"

Immediately they stopped when they saw that it was me in between them.

"Amber!" I heard Lucy yell in joy she ran up to hug me followed by Peter, Susan and Edmund.

"Where did you go?"

"Why did you leave us?"

"Don't ever do that again!"

"We're glad you're alright"

I was immediately bombarded with questions.

"I'll tell you guys later it's a long story." I told them

"Prince Caspian?" Peter asked

"Yes and you are high king Peter right?" Caspian said

"I believe you called" Peter asked smugly

I rolled my eyes at him

"Yes but I thought you'd be older?" Caspian said with surprise

"Well if you'd like we could come back in a few years." Peter replied

"No! No that's alright your just your not exactly what I expected." Caspian said as he glanced at all of us his eyes lingering on me I blushed the slightest bit.

"Neither are you" Edmund said

"A common enemy unites even the oldest of foes" Trufflehunter the badger said

"We have anxiously awaited you return my liege our hearts and swords are at your service."Reepicheep the mouse said to Peter

"Oh my gosh he is so cute!" Lucy whispered to Susan and I

I had known Reepicheep long enough to know that he would not like those words.

"Who said that!" Reepicheep exclaimed while drawing his sword pointing it accusingly around

"Sorry" Lucy said

"Oh...uh...your majesty with the greatest respect I do believe courageous, courteous or chivalrous might more befit a knight of Narnia" Reepicheep said a little embarrassed that he had almost shouted at the queen

I giggled quietly under my hand which was now covering my mouth. I saw Caspian look over at me and smile. My heart fluttered.

"Well at least we know some of you can handle a blade." Peter said obviously directing his comment towards Caspian

I gave him my hardest glare which caused him to flinch a bit. I smirked proud that my glare could make the high king flinch.

"...yes indeed and I have recently put it to good use securing weapons for your army sire." Reepicheep continued

"Good because we're going to need every sword we can get" Peter said turning back to Caspian

"Well than you will probably be wanting yours back." Caspian said as he handed Peter his sword

Peter turned and walked away. I walked next to Caspian as we walked back to camp.
