26. HE SAID I'M HIS SUNSHINE

You said I'm your sunshine,
In the morning I shine so bright;
But I've seen days, where I was the disappointment so I think you might not be right.

Though I wanted to brighten your darkness,
All I'm trying to be a moonlight;
I wanna hold you in your rough days,
I wanna tell you "I'm always here whether it's morning or midnight."

I wonder how I would be a sunshine?
How do you see me like that?
Because I've seen what people think of me,
Like I'm a witch, an upside-down bat.

But you hold my eyes in yours,
Telling me "you've never been so wrong.
You're not the darkness but the courage in all my days that makes me strong."

I couldn't be that lucky, could i?
"What did I do to deserve you?"
You smiled "I think you put a spell on me?"
And I winked at that, "well, i never knew."

If that's the spell,
I want it to never end;
Because I feel so safe with him,
That just with him all my life I wanna spend.

You took my hand in yours,
You pulled me into your embrace;
The good deed that I've done... maybe someday,
Was all I tried to trace.

Because you feel like a reward,
A reward that's hard to earn;
I don't show it,
But you always recognise my concern.

You beg to tell you what's bothering me,
You even notice the slightest change in my expression;
The way you take care of me,
Like I'm a precious diamond,
like I'm the most prominent possession.
